    part 2

In the day of visitation - I believe this refers to the time when God should come to execute judgment on the disobedient Jews, in the destruction of their civil polity, and the subversion of their temple and city. God did at that time put a remarkable difference between the Jews and the Christians: all the former were either destroyed or carried into slavery; not one of the latter: nor did they deserve it; for not one of them had joined in the sedition against the Roman government. That the day of visitation means a time in which punishment should be inflicted, is plain from Isa 10:3 : And what will ye do in the Day of Visitation, and in the desolation which shall come from afar? To whom will ye flee for help? And where will ye leave your glory? Some think that by the phrase in this place is meant the time in which they should be brought before the heathen magistrates, who, after an impartial examination, should find them innocent, and declare them as such; by which God would be glorified, the work appearing to be his own. Others think that it signifies the time in which God should make them the offer of mercy by Jesus Christ. The words, however, may refer to the time in which the Christians should be called to suffer for the testimony of Christ; the heathens, seeing them bear their sufferings with unconquerable patience, were constrained to confess that God was with them; and not a few, from being spectators of their sufferings, became converts to Christianity,

    1 peter 2:12

Having your conversation honest - Living in such a manner among the Gentiles, in whose country ye sojourn, as becomes the Gospel which ye profess.

That whereas they speak against you as evil doers - In all the heathen countries, in the first age of the Church, the Christians and the Jews were confounded together; and as the latter mere everywhere exceedingly troublesome and seditious, the Christians shared in their blame, and suffered no small measure of obloquy and persecution on this very account. It was doubly necessary, therefore, that the Christians should be exceedingly cautious; and that their conduct should prove that, although many of them were of the same nation, yet they who had embraced Christianity differed widely in their spirit and conduct from those, whether Jews or Gentiles, who had not received the faith of Christ.

Does the Bible say be obedient to all men who are over you?

    Alexander Rucker,

The honor and respect deserved, is conditional upon those leaders meeting the qualifications of "For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil." Too many leaders, regardless of whether in the church or government, embrace evil. And while the office they hold by the power of men deserves respect, all respect deserved and power over believers is dependent on what their character shows us. God defines for us those he has empowered to rule our affairs. Believers are not to yield to evil, but instead, resist even unto death of the body.

Your concern is real, but you & others facing this dilemma should proceed carefully. Give it time to see what the effects (in the short & long term) are. I know there's a lot of misinformation out there & this can increase worry to some folk. But I don't see anything sinister about this vaccine; I feel it is a genuine attempt to curb the virus' spread, without any DNA altering chemicals, etc.

However, like other new vaccines, only time will reveal its effectiveness, its durability, & any side effects. If you, or your family, by some chance get the Covid, then taking the vaccine & other medical help would be the prudent thing to do. Yet in this, as all things, we have to trust God for His protection, help & our recovery. Though nothing beats common sense & taking the necessary precautions when near others - the virus won't chase you or target you - one needs to go to it. Stay strong - trust the Lord.

So if this vaccine becomes mandatory, and knowing that this kills, and is experimental I'm I just to lead my family to what could be a fatal situation?

When the Jews were subject to the Romans, I believe they would have had the same question and this was Jesus answer to them at the time.

Mark 12:14 "And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?" 15 Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see [it]. 16 And they brought [it]. And he saith unto them, Whose [is] this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar's. 17 And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him.

    On 1 PETER 2:2

By nature every person is born in sin through the sinful seed of their natural fathers and conditioned therein ( 1 Peter 1:23). For that reason and in order to become a son of God, which are born of God, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God, a person must be 'Born Again' ( John 1:12,13; 3:3-7; 1 John 3:9; 5:4).

By attending a man-made institution a few hours a week ( Acts 7:48; 17:24), does not mean that a person can make a claim that they are followers of Christ and 'Born Again'. That is falsehood, as in truth they follow after an image of a false god and a false Christ ( Matthew 24:24; Mark 13:22; Gal. 4:8; Rev. 12:9). This is how Satan has transformed Himself into an angel of light ( 2 Cor. 11:13-15).

Only through 'True Repentance' will God be able to reveal Himself, and adopt you as His sons and daughters ( Rom. 8:15,23; 2 Cor.6:18; Gal. 4:5; Eph. 1:5; Hebr. 12:5; 1 John 3:1).

The word 'Repent' means a lot more than what people by nature have been conditioned to believe. It is the key principle of all the teachings of Jesus Christ and the axiom (basis) of the Word of God and a prerequisite and primary requirement for the salvation of mankind. It actually means the changing of spirits - to turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God ( Acts 26:18).

For a better understanding and the 'spiritual truth' of what it means to repent, and learn how and by whom mankind has been deceived ( Rev. 12:9), and what people must do to be reunited with the true and living God, we invite you to seek Him according to the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive ( John 14:17).

You need not that any man teach you ( Isaiah 54:13; 6:45; 1 John 2:27), It is only by revelation of God that you will come to know Christ ( Daniel 12:4,9; Amos 3:7; Matthew 16:17; Luke 2:26; Romans 16:25; 1 Cor. 2:10; Gal. 1:16; Eph. 3:3,5; Rev. 1:1). It is a narrow way that leadeth unto 'Life', and few there be that find it ( Matthew 7:14).

Praise the Lord for you!! Psalms 91 is such a promise from our God! I am getting ready to study this myself.

Remember, Jesus tells us to not even worry about tomorrow cuz the evil in today is enough to deal with. Know you are His!!

Blessings on you and yours in Lord Jesus!

    Bless you!

I worked homeless, crisis, dual diagnosis, substance abuse too. I read your post.

This Word of God Ephesians 6: 10-18 teaches us to stand strong in faith in Jesus name. To put on the armor of God. We are called to war in the spirit, we can't see the devil but He sees us because Christ is in us.

I've found that enemy will use anyone to try to destroy our faith in who God says we are in His Word.

    Stay strong!! God loves you!!

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 10: 9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and thy shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Verse 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. I pray the Lord will reveal Himself in a mighty way. Holy Spirit please bless. In Jesus name. Amen

Kay, if you have trusted Christ as your Savior, then you already have the gift of Salvation ( Ephesians 2: 8 & 9 ). God will welcome you into Heaven. And Satan will do all he can to discourage you, like he has been doing so far. If you have favorite Bible verses, think about them when those times come. Do you need some?

John 1:12. But as many as received him to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe in his name.

Praying for you that God will guide you with His eye. Turn to His Holy Word. Read the Psalms at least 5 a day. Read Proverbs, there is one for every day of the month. Claim the victory in the Lord Jesus Christ. Nothing happens by accident. If God allows one door to close He will open a better one. Trust Jesus with your every need. Spend time in prayer. May God richly bless your family in Jesus' name. If your not in church regularly please find a King James Bible Church and attend. Jesus loves and cares for you so much.

Dear Heavenly Father: I humbly ask that you touch this persons life, heart and family right now. Pease meet every spiritual and physical need. Please send your peace in he midst of the storm. Help this person to trust you Lord completely and rest in your love, mercy and grace.

    In Jesus' name.

    Amen

Kay just be rest assured that he is at the storm the boat will not capsize... be steadfast in your relationship with God he will not leave u neither will he forsake u....our prayers are with you
  • Michelle - In Reply on 1 Peter 2 - 3 years ago
Dear one, my 1st instinct is to encourage you and also for you to encourage your daughter to know the same...God is on His throne. He is sovereign. NOTHING will happen to us, be it job loss, job gain, good health or sickness, anything, unless it is God's will. AND...if something is God's will, nothing will stop it from happening. I've grown to really understand that over the years and I tell you, knowing that has been such a huge weight lifted and such a tremendous source of comfort.

God wants us to have complete and unwavering faith & trust in Him. This is where we can find rest for our weary souls.

There is no rest to be found in the cares of this world, but take heart, for He has overcome the world. ( John 16:33 kjv)

We can also know that unlike what so many tv preachers keep trying to say, this life is filled with trials & tribulations. God's Word let's us know this life is filled with them, but it's from faith to faith that He makes us to stand.

In my own life, a constant reminder I also give myself is to know that things could always be worse. For example, the worst thing could be to be lost out there in this world without the knowledge of a loving & merciful God who has every awareness of all our troubles, for He has even numbered the hairs on our head ( Luke 12:7kjv)....and not even a sparrow falls to the ground without Him knowing ( Matthew 10:29 kjv).

What an incredible comfort that is! We face this world with God and His perfect plan...not for this life only, but for eternity!

As for the enemy of our souls...Jesus rebuked Satan, overcame the temptations while He was in the wilderness, by the Word of God.

(Matthew chapter 4 & Mark chapter 1 kjv)

    Hebrews 4:12 kjv

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

Kay I'm praying sis. You know satan only attacks what is not his. God has a plan for you. Read Psalms 91 and trust the word of God. Read the book of James for peace, strength and focus(it is only a few chapters). Fill your heart with His word. Isaiah 26:3 should fill you with peace. Jeremiah 29:11 should fill you with peace.
