1Pet.1:1 - " ..... to the 'strangers' ..... " Peter was writing here to Christians who were scattered under the persecution of the Romans after the Day of Pentecost. The word strangers used here denotes - strangers to this world which they have been taken out of spiritually; we are 'in' this world, but not 'of' this world. To be 'of' it is to partake of its sins.

Our affection for our brothers must not be put on for show. It must be genuine and heartfelt as verse 22 shows.

Their are many paths to understanding the Journey of life as there are many verses in Scripture to the understanding of the word of God; however the first step does not begin in forsaking.Seek, knock, ask and the door shall be opened unto you; for those who seek God so shall they find him through Christ Our Lord and Savior the Good Shepherd.
  • Saundra Collins on 1 Peter 1 - 7 years ago
I find it encouraging, especially now that I'm going through anxiety attacks, from fear. Anything coming from the King James Bible is encouraging in these trying times. we can relate to what they went through.

1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. 1 John 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come and even now already is it in the world. 1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. 2 John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 1 Peter 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

  • Brianna on 1 Peter 1:7 - 8 years ago
I appreciate your story Nakazibwe! Your faith is certainly being tested, but s it will surely be refined. It 's so encouraging to see you still have deep faith. It 's also comforting to know, that just in the case of Job, these test come not from Jehovah God, but from Satan, and God only allows these test. As we saw with Job, Jehovah blessed Job with more than he had at first. So though God does allow us to go through certain trials, our refined faith is better than Gold! There is nothing that can be taken from us, that God can not give us.
  • A.S. Egene on 1 Peter 1 - 8 years ago
Faith is the theme of the message. For salvation comes by faith in Christ alone. One can only truly love and be holy in Christ when one has faith in Him.
  • Dee on 1 Peter 1 - 8 years ago
The Holy Spirit cleanses us unto obedience because of the sprinkling of blood by knowledge, remembrance and understanding of scriptures. How? Short answer, meditate and reflect deeply on the words of the book, and the words which are Spirit and life shows how we are sanctified unto obedience. To hear and obey pleases GOD and we are changed inwardly in our minds by those reflections and revelation will not be hard to come by. Peter was Simon Peter and The LORD words changed him remember.
