3:17 It is infinitely better, if it be the will of God, ye should suffer. His permissive will appears from his providence.
1Pe 3:17 For [it is] better, if the will of God is so. If God wills that we should suffer, for the Father sometimes chasteneth children (Heb 12:6,7). It is better to suffer for well doing, than for evil doing, for righteousness, than for evil. See 2Ti 3:12.
