When Isaiah penned 11 V 1 Jesse David and Solomon had been dead for approx. 300 yrs, ISAIAH IS JUST USING THEM AS SYMBOLIC LANGUAGE FOR A DAVIDIC TYPE KINGDOM COMING IN THE LAST DAYS .HE MENTIONS THAT GOD WD SET HIS HAND AGAIN THE 2 ND TIME TO RECOVER HIS PPL THATS THE 2 ND COMING, This is all prophetic of the KINGDOM of GOD THAT IS COMING BY THIS TRINITY TYPE KINGDOM FATHER SON AND GRANSON. This speaks of the house of the LORD which was finally completed by King Solomon for the Israelites and for the LORD to dwell with his people. Under King David there was too much warfare in the land to build this kingdom. The LORD promised David that his son would build the house. This is the fulfillment of that promise. But what we fail to understand is, this all happens within us. This is truth.

Verse 23~Solomon offered great praise to Jehovah God and he acknowledged that there was no other person or god like him.

BSP; I remember during the 80's there was a Bumper Sticker that a lot of church people had on their cars: it read, Christians aren't perfect, just forgiven! Not only me, but all my real Christian brothers and sisters agreed, that that was a terrible witness, and completely misrepresents Jesus and our salvation! Jesus said, BE PERFECT EVEN AS YOUR FATHER IN HEAVEN IS PERFECT! So what is your point?
  • BSP
Verse 46 acknowledges the fact that all are imperfect and nobody is perfect.
  • A disciple
"For thou didst separate them from among all the people of the earth, to be thine inheritance.." Solomon's prayer is for God to always have compassion on His people whenever we call upon Him; whenever we might be in trouble because we have sinned, near or far, when we turn our faces and lift up our hands to the LORD, that He would forgive and do for us all that we ask Him. For we have NO ONE ELSE!

1 KINGS 8:61 LET YOUR --- HEART --- THEREFORE BE PERFECT WITH THE LORD OUR GOD TO WALK IN HIS STATUTES AND TO KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS----PSALM 62:10 TRUST NOT IN OPPRESSION AND BECOME NOT VAIN IN ROBBERY IF RICHES INCREASE SET NOT YOUR --- HEART --- UPON THEM----LUKE 12:34 FOR WHERE YOUR TREASURE IS THERE WILL YOUR --- HEART --- BE ALSO

Thank you, PETER! This IS the very thing that causes so many to stumble needlessly, and fall short of God's greatest wishes for them. How much do we hear from misguided and mistaught Christians, well meaning and otherwise good brothers and sisters; that "we can't help but sin, and nobody's perfect;" having swallowed down the maxims of the world, that doesn't know the Lord, instead of the truth!
  • Peter A. Okebukola
The formula for enjoying God's favour as David did is in verse 61: "Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments."
  • Deacon Hawthorne
We should look at the whole chapter where it give preferences of 2 choronicals chapter 7: 13-16 , there's familiar quote where king David Solomon's father was to build the Temple, but since king David had blood on his hands, he left it to Solomon to build the Temple it also the strangers that were not if the chosen but they were the outcast of Israel, meaning gentiles as explained in debut. 7:1-6

Verse 63, Perhaps the meat offering is symbolic in amount. An average ox weighs 1,500 pounds. 22 thousand ox are 3 million 3 hundred thousand pounds of flesh. An average sheep at time of slaughter is around 125 pounds so 120,000 sheep would be 15 million pounds of flesh. So that would be approximately 18 million, 300 thousand pounds of flesh offered in a day in the middle of the court because the brazen alter was to small to hold it all. This immense amount of flesh makes me think perhaps the sacrifice amount was not literal but symbolic.
  • Insight 777
Verse 27, Paul mentioned that someone else told him about a 3rd heaven but Paul was unsure if it was true or not since Paul was not given this information directly from God. So a 3rd heaven associated with earth may or may not be true. But verse 27 in this chapter is making the point that God does not reside in one place solely. God does not reside only in a heaven regardless of how many heavens have been established. God resides everywhere in the universe at all times through eternity. God is not limited to residing in one building on one small planet in the universe he created. When Jesus sets up the new Jerusalem on earth where he will live, his father, God, will still reside everywhere in the universe.
  • Insight 777
Verse 8 is symbolic, an expression of the relation between God and man. The Lord is the light of the world. In physics, Light cannot be absorbed without limit. To absorb the light without limit would be to BE the light. According to the principle of the conservation of Energy, energy cannot be created or destroyed it can only be converted from one type to another. Consequently, most objects that absorb visible light reemit it as heat. So, although an object may appear dark such as the cloud, it is likely bright at a frequency that humans cannot perceive. For more information see thermodynamics. So this verse may be speaking of the Lord dwelling in the intense energy the ark has created which is a dark cloud to the eyes of the priests. They can not perceive the power and energy of God, it is hidden from their eyes represented by the dark cloud.

Vs 33 there is no eternal security , God will always punish sin, to enjoy God blessing we must be free from sin. Vs 41 we are no more strangers but co heirs the blood of Jesus has redeemed us, all we need do is to be holy and be perfect to lives with God in heaven at the end vs 61

The 3rd temple is ready to be assembled. All the articles have been crafted perfectly. They say it will only take 6 months to erect. Come Lord come, we are ready!
  • Anil Lemuel
Its true as verse 48 if we return to Lord and repent with all heart and soul God will have compassion on us as it says in verse 50 Our God is Faithful and Trustworthy so he will restore everything what satan has stolen destroyed and killed our spritual blessings
  • Solomon
From what i have seen in this chapter, God is worthy to be trusted because he cannot fail in any of his promise. In all that he promised David, he fulfilled all at the appointed time.
  • Marlon R. Gonzales for verse 11
if the cloud symbolizes the spirit of God so that in this moment of the dedication of the temple, the Spirit of God filled the temple; the power of the Spirit overwhelmed the ministry of the priests and takes over the whole ministry by Himself. That holy moment, God takes over superseding the power of the priests to minister. That was a consecration not anymore of the physical aspect of temple but the spiritual significance of the temple.

I see a very humble KING. A prayer for his country and people like no other. I wish all Kings presidents and leaders would pray such a prayer to GOD our creator. JEHOVAH.
Referencing GOD is not a sign of weakness or low life. It gives you Confidence because whoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved. It is your duty (verse 38) to pray for your country. MAY GOD bless ISREAL and your cour country.
  • Salomao for verse 17
Ikings8:17 It means that truly David handed over testemony to Solomon his son, and it is wonderful if our sons and daughters can perform the will that God had given to thier Fathers.

ive seen christian woman wearing revealing dresses to church men coming in shorts, have some respect for the house of our Lord. Where has all all the morals and respect gone from present day christian. for people who genuinely cant afford clothes the church should help their members.
  • James
This chapter shows the importance of having a church of God to dwell and to pray effectively. The spirit of the Lord can move and minister to all His children very well in the most holy place of the world which is the temple of God.
  • RALPH WATERS
In reading this chapter, I see the importance being placed on "The House of The Lord", the Church. So many churches has lost the HOUSE OF GOD, and become a building, as in "The Building Fund". We, as Christians, should recognize, and never forget, we come together to worship in a buidling, where THE SPIRIT OF GOD IS, so therefore, its not a "BUILDING", BUT, THE HOUSE OF GOD.
  • David for verse 60
Is the Lord referring to Jesus, or Yahweh (aka Father)
