  • Ann on 1 John 2 - 13 years ago
1st John 2 is strictly dealing with love, compassion and know who Jesus really is especially when it stated that how can you hate your brother and love God, It simply say you are in darkness. he that love his brother abide in light. He that knoweth not God the Father and Jesus is antichrist.
  • Garyloyd newman on 1 John 2 - 13 years ago
The warning is who`s coming"instead of Jesus" and anti-christ is here is anti-christians teaching lies and you can't believe all that they preach or teach, we need to learn the word for yourself and we can tell their lies.

2:9 he that saith he is in the light and hateth his brother is in darkness even until now 1:5 God is light and in him is no darkness at all 3:24 and he that keepeth his commandment God dwelleth in him and he in God 3:24 and this is his commandment that we should believe on the name of his son Jesus Christ AND love one another as he gave commandment 4:15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God dwelleth in him and he in God ......Jesus is the only beggoten Son of God but it also says that now are we the sons of god Jesus is also your brother the commandments of 3:23 as the Word of God he gives you the Fathers commandment to believe that he is his son As the son of God he gives you his commandment to love one another John 13:34 there is only one way to love your brother Jesus by keeping his commandments 3:23 John 14:21 He that hath my commandments and keepeth them he it is that loveth me and he that loveth me shall be loved of my father then it says he that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings his commandments the law of moses the things i know about the law the law is not of faith whatsoever is not of faith is sin without faith its immposible to please god the law is of works for by grace are you saved through faith and that not of yourselves it is the gift of god not of works now to him that worketh is the reward not recond of grace but of debt but to him that worketh not but believeth on him who justifieth the ungodly his faith is counted for righteousness the law is a schoolmaster to bring us to Christ but after we have come to Christ there is no more need for the law the schoolmaster the law strengthens sin to show sin working in us and to show our need for a savior the law is not of faith but of works whatsoever is not of faith is sin

Verse 15-17, To know that Jesus is the light for use and our sin though God, make me so happy to know Jesus.
  • Mike Farris on 1 John 2 - 14 years ago
If you want to love God in a robust, mature, and perfect way, then verse 4 teaches you that you should "keep" his Word. Keep means more than obey--although it certainly includes that. Keeping has the additional meaning of protecting and preserving. In an English castle the round turret-like structure in the center of the castle was the inner stronghold. It was called the castle keep. We need to build God's Word as the inner stronghold of our loves in order to love God perfectly (maturely).
  • Ralph de Jesus on 1 John 2:3 - 14 years ago
God will give the his holy sprit to those who keep his commandments and it is by his holy spirit that we will be able to know him; for no man knows God except God and those who have the sprit of God within them.

Jesus would intercede for us let us not be found naked for God eyes are to and fro less we get caught in nakeness we would be cursed! But our advocate Jesus would plead our case before his father God - amen?
  • Ralph De Jesus on 1 John 2:4 - 14 years ago
Not everyone that says lord, Lord is born of God. Jesus and his word are the truth, when we believe we must not believe like the devil believes, we must believe obeying his commandments to have the Truth (Jesus) in our hearts. Otherwise we will be under the law with the love of the world in our hearts and not under grace with the love of God in Our hearts..
