People's Bible Notes for 1 John 3:24

1Jo 3:24 He that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. By keeping them we dwell in him and he in us. See Joh 14:23. Hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. The Spirit that dwells in us is manifest by its fruits. If we bear the fruits of the Spirit in our lives it is proof that Christ dwells in us. If we are led by the Spirit we are the sons of God (Ro 8:14).

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that WHOSOEVER believes should not PERISH but has everlasting LIFE! There is indeed an ACT of RECEIVING, BELIEVING, TRUSTING, his word. In the beginning was the WORD. GOD created LIFE with HIS WORD.

Romans 10:9,- That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (Titus 3:5) Not by works of rightousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.

Dear Vicki; I have to address part of what you wrote. You said, "..That may RESULT in changed behavior but it s not changed behavior that saves. See Ephesians 2:8-9." But you have to complete the sentence! "..For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." If we don't show a good result and proof of Grace, we perish!

Dear Vicki; There will be MANY who are left standing OUTSIDE and UNABLE TO ENTER; because THEY DID NOT DO WHAT JESUS HAS COMMANDED US! It is a false teaching that will damn the souls of those who believe it; that says, because salvation is a gift we somehow have nothing to do! EVERYTHING that Jesus taught is that we must DO whatever He says if we hope at all to be saved!Mt. 5:16; 7:13-27; 21:28-31

Son of David, would you by chance be Catholic? I know they don t believe we can know we re saved until we die and that is false and directly contradicts Scripture. See 1 John 5:13. Salvation is a gift, we do not earn it by how we live. We receive it as a gift by faith in Christ. That may RESULT in changed behavior but it s not changed behavior that saves. See Ephesians 2:8-9.

My beloved, i was having a torrid time in my work place, i dont blame my boss but my heart started condemning my self or the situation is against me. I have decided i will not complain this year. This scripture has given me some light on what God thinks about me and not what my heart thinks about me. In Christ Navin
