Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

40And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

41Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

42And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

43And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

    44And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

    Jah bless.....

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

3For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

4That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

5For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

6For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

7Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

8So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

9But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

10And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

11But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

12Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

13For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

14For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

15For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

16The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.

14But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?

15And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

24God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

26And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

find some water a creek beach whatever a bathtub and have a believing friend baptize you, Philip wasn't a pastor but he baptized anyway

27 And he arose and went. And behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasure and had come to Jerusalem to worship,

28 was returning; and sitting in his chariot, he was reading Isaiah the prophet.

29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, "Go near and join thyself to this chariot."

30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, "Understandest thou what thou readest?"

31 And he said, "How can I, unless some man should guide me?" And he besought Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

32 The place of the Scripture from which he read was this: "He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb before his shearer is dumb, so opened He not His mouth.

33 In His humiliation, His judgment was taken away. And who shall declare His generation? For His life is taken from the earth."

34 And the eunuch answered Philip and said, "I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? Of himself, or of some other man?"

35 Then Philip opened his mouth and began at the same Scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water; and the eunuch said, "See, here is water! What doth hinder me from being baptized?"

37 And Philip said, "If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest." And he answered and said, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."

38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still, and they both went down into the water, both Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him.

No. Salvation comes through Faith in Christ. Water baptism is only symbolic of shedding the old for the new .

1 Corinthians 8:12 But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ. I want to thank the Father for the Holy Spirit that lives inside me and guiding me when I read the Bible. I also pray that I don't hurt anybody by word of wisdom of myself, for I know it will go against Christ. Peace

Just because someone points out something [that's true] doesn't make him unloving or impatient! If I didn't care about the well being and spiritual safety of my brothers and sisters in the Lord, I wouldn't say anything! The more we mature in the Lord, the more we should be able to discern right and wrong spirits, and the faster will the alarms go off when something false or evil is near. Peace!
  • Ray321 on 1 Corinthians 8 - 6 years ago
1 Corinthians 8:2 And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know. sometimes we need to have patience and listen to God's word, rather then do something to offend a brother or sister in Christ. Not everyone is going to know the whole Bible, therefore we must have patience with others with Love. The Holy Spirit will guide us in truth. Amen

We have only one God and Lord Jesus Christ in whom we consist. we Live in Him. Therefore We do not Live for Our selves but for Him and others. So that Christ will be lord to all. I will Not do what will offend my brother to sin. Be it meat or my action or gain. Philpians 3:7-9

5,6 helps us to see that although there are many who are viewed as Gods there is only one true God. That one God is Jehovah, who is the creator of everything. The creator of all things is the one who should receive our worship.
  • Angie on 1 Corinthians 8 - 7 years ago
When we read and study the Bible it deepens our appreciation for Jehovah’s endearing ways, causing us to love him even more. And when our love for God grows, his love for us intensifies.
  • Irene123 on 1 Corinthians 8 - 7 years ago
God is one, not three. God is the Father in creation, God is Jesus in Salvation, God is the Holy Ghost (spirit), God's name is Jesus. His name shall be called Emmanuel (God with us); His name shall be called Jesus (Jehovah, the Lord our Savior). Matt. 28:19, "... baptizing them in the NAME of ... "; Acts 2:37-38 -- " ... be baptized everyone of you in the NAME of Jesus Christ ... "

But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse. 1 Corinthians 8:6 states one God and his name is Jesus.

Matthew I read your comment and it truly blessed my soul. It was like reading my own words. I don't want anything else but Him too and I want Him to fill me with His love so that it will overflow and touch everyone that I come in contact with. God bless you abundantly Matthew in Jesus name. Amen.

I Love God Jesus and the Holy Spirit 3 in me. I choose not to choose anything but what is from God. I don't want the choice to ever choose anything else. May the Light shine in me so that I may share the Light with all who cross my path
  • Nick Nkole on 1 Corinthians 8 - 8 years ago
I think that Paul’s advice implies to other actions, not just to meat offered to idols. It implies that we shouldn’t partake in worldly dances. It implies that we shouldn’t partake in any worldly affairs too. Yes, it implies that we shouldn’t do a thing that could be offensive to the taste of our weak brother or sister.
  • Dennis on 1 Corinthians 8 - 8 years ago
To Grant: Here, Jesus may not be saying that He is God, true. But there are a number of other places that state it and even more where it is implied. Wouldn't it be a shame to deny this long held doctrine which in the last couple of centuries in particular has come under attack, and to lose one's soul; "For if ye believe not that I am He, ye shall perish in your sins."
  • HARY COLLINS on 1 Corinthians 8 - 8 years ago
Every true child of God should be careful the way he or she uses the freedom we have in Christ to avoid leading those who are new in the faith to sin.
  • Grant on 1 Corinthians 8:6 - 8 years ago
One is one. Period. Jesus said me and the Father are one. One what? At Jn 17:21 Jesus said he and his disiples are one. So, Jesus wanted all his followers to be one, just as he and his Father one. Jesus is not saying he is God when he says me and the Father are one.
  • Gary fletcher on 1 Corinthians 8 - 8 years ago
I really like Corinthians this book of truth and it is straight to the point and I Have to say I really admire the apostle Paul because of how God used him in a mighty way,and especially where he came from what he was tough as a child and how he believe in what he was tough and how God brought him out of his wrong and into his glorious right and after meeting Jesus on Damascus rd and when God cleaned him up and used him to preach his gospel amen
