This is in response to "Lucy ". Lucy, seek God through prayer on this issue with your husband. You can find the answer to this situation through God 's Word and prayer. We will lift you up in prayer, in the book of Joshua, God proves He will lead the way and provide results when we seek His face.

My husband has converted to Islam. He told me that if I refuse to convert to watch my head of I am dead. He is a serial adulterer . He is violent. I locked him out to save my life. I don 't believe that God wants me to be abused or killed by my husband. We have been married for 46 years. I love the man I married but he is not the same man I thought I married. He has lost his mind!

We christians are not to leave/divorce the unbeliever?
  • RNM I COR 7-26 on 1 Corinthians 7 - 9 years ago
I COR 7-26... And I think a lot depends on why they separated, to me that would be an important part, because if he was unfaithful or did not hold up to his part of the marriage devotions, God may not sanctify you marrying this person for one. this is really a subject better suited for private conversation. Hope this helps? AMEN!!

I CORIN 6:18...Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body but he that committeth fornication sinneth aganst his own body. The sin of fornication is always their if the two consenting parties are not married in the eyes of God. AMEN!!
  • Essie on 1 Corinthians 7 - 9 years ago
I have a question about fornication is it a sin to be with a married man when him n his wife is separated for ten years
  • D.v.v. on 1 Corinthians 7 - 9 years ago
I 'm replying to a question asked about once saved always saved. In HEB 6 4 6 Heb 10 26 trust in your first impulse in reading this Matt 17 27 Jesus said. I pray you understand this, ask the holy spirit for help.
  • D.V.V. on 1 Corinthians 7 - 9 years ago
We see here an example of a person or persons being accountable for themselves. That is writen. If God has but you together with someone stay if at all possible, keeping peace. God is incontrol of ever situation in our life. We need to love as God intends for us to do, the whole bible is our love letter from our father. Eph1 1 5 Its already been planned for us!
  • Edward James on 1 Corinthians 7 - 9 years ago
Can you explain verse 9. I am engaged but wehave not set a date yet. We do cuddle and kiss but do not touch our private parts. Also we have slept together but we have not had sex. We said we would wait until after we got married. Also is it wrong to have sex after we are married.
  • Kasi oyige on 1 Corinthians 7 - 9 years ago
A guide for the married and those intending to.
  • Prophet Dennis BEll on 1 Corinthians 7 - 9 years ago
First and foremost, one must take into account two pertinent thoughts this was a Gentile church, and most of those who received the Holy Ghost, in Corinth may have come out of the religious ideology of sex as a form of worship. That s what was going on in Corinth at the times of Paul. Paul was very careful not to give his opinions as the "devine will of God ". He said "but to the rest speak I, not the Lord ". In America aswell as the entire church world, times has changed. For a man doesn 't posseess a virgin as they did in his Paul 's time. The most important thing to be aware of is that if you acquire knowledge of your wife 's past after you marry her,you may or may not be justified in divorcing her. It depends on her past and if she has repented. Then again, this is my opinion. However, for the church, the only thing justifying divorce is Adultery!!! That s Christ, and not me.
  • Ish on 1 Corinthians 7:14 - 9 years ago
It means to be made holy. You are NO LONGER two...you are one.
  • Pastor T on 1 Corinthians 7:14 - 9 years ago
We had this same discussion at my church, the bible says that when we marry we become as one spirit.... remember light overcomes dark any day, greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. So, my perception is this if we are one spirit than the God in the holy one overtakes the darkness of the other!! Also the bible says how can two walk together except they agree at some point the unsaved one must have a lil belief I think or he or she wouldn 't be married to the holier one so maybe they have as much belief as a mustard seed but are not ready to live the life??? I 'm just speculating. But to finish my thought I do believe that if the other party dies before excepting Jesus in their lives I believe God still receives them unto him self even if he puts them in a lower level of heaven an not the Hollies of Hollies, because that person loved the holy individual just like Christ loved the church so in return they loved on Jesus throughout their marriage!!By the way..... my unsaved husband eventually gave his life to the Lord, thank you Jesus!!! For saving both of us Eight and counting for me and one year and a few months for him .... Praise the Lord!!!!

1Corinthians 7 27 28 Art thou bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife. 28 But and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned. Nevertheless such shall have trouble in the flesh but I spare you. Those who were loosed from a wife at that time, were loosed for reason of the man having found his new bride unclean, of fornication, and had put her away, making him loosed from a wife.

verse 12 "But to the rest speak I, not the Lord " interesting, is he demonstrating some humility?
  • Gail N. on 1 Corinthians 7:14 - 10 years ago
THE VERSE OF SCRIPTURE HAS BEEN USED TO "PROVE " THAT CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF ACCOUNTABILITY, OF UNBELIVING PARENTS WILL NOT BE TAKEN IN THE RAPTURE EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE NEVER KNOWN SIN NOR SINNED. NOWHERE IN THAT VERSE CAN I MAKE IT SAY YHAT HAVING READ IT AT A DOZEN TIMES IN EVREY TRANSLATION OF THE WORD I CAN GET MY HANDS ON. I HAVE UNSAVED SONS IN LAW AS WELL AS GRANDCHILDREN GRANDCHILDREN IN LAW,THAT HAVE TO ATTEMPT TO EXPLAIN WHY IT IS NOT ONLY IMPERATIVE FOR THEIR OWN SOUL TO BE SAVED WHEN CHRIST RETURNS BUT FOR THE YOUNG BABIE 'S AS WELL. MY GRANDCHILDREN GREATGTANDCHILDREN HAVING TO GO THROUGH THE TRIBULATION IS NOT WHAT SOMETHING THAT MAKES ME JOYFUL. HARD TO RECTIFY THAT SCRIPTURE TO AN UNBELIVER AS A WITNESS FOR SALVYION OR AT LEAST FOR ME...

This verse is among many that domestic abuse perpetrators use to justify abuse and violent actions towards their wives
  • Makeda on 1 Corinthians 7:15 - 10 years ago
I do believe that marriages can be restored with prayer, honesty and a willingness to work it out. But how can one do that and yet still be in love with someone else other than the husband/wife?
  • Barbara on 1 Corinthians 7:33 - 10 years ago
yes,men has to attainto the thingsof the world but the wife an home come first after God,,if he love God he will love his wife the way God wants it to be.
  • Von on 1 Corinthians 7 - 10 years ago
I am responding to the verse 14, Tobi's questions. It is not saying that the husband or wife will be saved or go to heaven because the other one obeyed the gospel/is saved. It means that the unbeliever might be won over by as the believer's exemplification of living a godly life. The other might be made holy (santified--Greek translation means, hagiasmos...holiness. As each person is responsible for his or her own soul. If the he or she choose not to obey God's teaching, they won't be and cannot be saved.
Babies/children are not capable of sinning so they will go to heaven. A person have to be able to be accountable for their sins, able to understand.

" Matthew 7:21 Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven {will enter. Just because a person obeyed the gospel, it doesn't" mean they are going to heaven. One has to obey and live their life according to the God's word. If someone goes back into the world and start doing the same thing they did before put on Christ in baptism, they will not make it to heaven. Repenting is a change of heart/lifestyle. God's does not leave or turn his back on us....ever. We are the ones who leaves him. Romans 8:35-39. I hope this helped.
  • Tobi on 1 Corinthians 7:14 - 10 years ago
Please i have two important questions. I have been having this sort of argument or discussion i might say with a friend about this

    1) If an believer should marry an unbeliever, it states here that the unbeliever becomes sanctified, which also makes their baby sanctified. Sanctification in the context as is in the Hebrew language means being set apart. Does it mean the unbeliever's husband will make it to heaven even without confessing Christ as the lord and Savior?. Also, what about an unbeliever's baby who dies, where would the baby go?

    2) There is this doctrine or whatsoever they call it,that if one is saved, one is saved for life and can never be separated from the father no matter what sin the person commits. Please what is your believe about this with scriptural references.
  • Timothy Wayne George on 1 Corinthians 7:3 - 10 years ago
Let the husband render to his wife due benevolence, and likewise the wife to the husband. Marriage needs love, and encouragement. Only come apart, for time to fast and pray, then come together again less you be tempted. Praise God for marriage, and it works well when we obey the guidelines laid down in the scriptures.
  • Juanita on 1 Corinthians 7:4 - 10 years ago
so, does that a man can make a woman have relations regardless how she feels (illness, diabetes)? Does this give him the right to lay down with another woman because she is can not give herself to her husband
  • Ar on 1 Corinthians 7 - 10 years ago
Yes, we penticostals ( I am one who lives in Greece and attend theGreek Pentecostal church) believe as the New Testament says, that as a reborn child of our Lord we have a way of repentance. When Jesus was crucified and raised from he dead into heaven, he opened the way between man and God.
What a reborn child does is, go and kneel down and ask for
repentance through Jesus from our Father God, and the Holy Spirit will talk to you in your heart, or in different languages, and accepted your repentance. The only way to Father is Jesus. The N.T. testifies why Jesus came. Please read your bible. We have the grace of the Lord

Catholic , Orthodox prist,or Pentecostal Pastor cannot forgive ones sins. You can only ask them to pray for you,not repent for
you. The whole N T teaching is how to find man's lost relationship with God. That's why Jesus came an took our sins and was crucified for us.
  • Patrick tinkamanyire. on 1 Corinthians 7:14 - 10 years ago
i had a conversation and later arguement on this very theme with a roommate who contends, should a non believing wife continue to have canal relationship with a her husband. immediately i invoked that we are under grace not the law. however he was adamant and even questioned whether pentecostals (myself)have a repenting system like catholics.now thats when i asked do you go to church purporsely to repent to a priest or it should be from within where the sin took root your heart. i had him mumble incoherently but told him to read john 4:14 and the great commission that we are under the ministry of the Holy Spirit. whoever calls upon His name shall not be put to shame. if jesus has already paid the price and he became the curse for me some people still need to know basic biblical truths. its like that samaritan woman who trusted in ancestry and a long line of heritage to be real worship. i believe if i confess with my mouth and sincerely from my heart He is faithful and just to forgive my sins. and this scripture vindicates my stand of sanctification of a believing husband of the wife. similarly all food if received with thanksgiving it becomes purified by the invocation of the blood of the lamb.
