1 Corinthians 3:2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. Paul was feeding the Corinth believers, but they were caught up in there sins. Paul had to eat his pride and not judge but to show love Charity to the Corinth believers. We have to have patience and Love one another, God will work it out, it's all in His hand

Ray321; Our body is the Temple of the Holy Ghost, which; if we are a truly saved and converted Believer; is in us. If we defile the Temple of God, we do not die and go to heaven early! but the Scripture says, we will be destroyed. We are to be holy, as He is holy; not, "as if" we are to be holy! "Be ye clean, ye that bear the vessels of the LORD." God gave us His Word for all our needs in life.
  • Ray321 on 1 Corinthians 3 - 6 years ago
1 Corinth 3:17 , I am very careful with thus verse, I know as a saved born again child of God, I should treat my body as if it were holy because the Holy Temple lives within me. If I destroy my body with the cares of this world, then Jesus will take me home to Heaven early. Praise the Lord for the Word of God to teach and instruct us in the right direction and the Holy Spirit to guided us.

    Yes,I see it now. TY
  • Bruce on 1 Corinthians 3 - 7 years ago
Mari: verse one says I must talk to you even as if you "were" babes .
When someone hasn't eaten for sometime they can't start eating meat and potatoes they have to start out with liquids. The same with believers. Adult babies. So we can call them babes. They have to start again. Hebrews 5:12-14
  • Mari on 1 Corinthians 3 - 7 years ago
It is for babes in Cbrist. Look at the first couple of verses.
  • J on 1 Corinthians 3 - 7 years ago

  • MockingBird on 1 Corinthians 3 - 7 years ago
God did not send us out alone . We have Holy Spirit within leading and guiding us in all the affairs of life. All we have to do is listen and obey where He leads and He also goes with us as we go : In His will !! we are God's building Let Him do what He knows is best !!

  • Michael C. on 1 Corinthians 3 - 7 years ago
Sis. Kath, sorry, but Paul was not talking to baby Christians. If we read the whole context of the letter, they have had a significant amount of time, and been very blessed favor from God, with great Teachers. Also, if we look at the record written by Luke, in Acts, they should have been MUCH FARTHER ALONG, for the grace bestowed on them! The point is, that we must abide in Christ, or wither away.
  • Sis. Kath :) on 1 Corinthians 3 - 7 years ago
That verse is for baby Christians who just received Christ....This is a metaphor... At the moment, they could just understand the most basic preaching needed for their maturity... (milk) And then as they grow Spiritually, little by little, step by step, they could already fully understand and grasp deeper preaching from the Lord... (meat)
  • BSP on 1 Corinthians 3 - 7 years ago
Verse 19 shows that God views the wisdom of this world as foolishness. God is the wisest being of all and is the source of true wisdom.
  • Michael C. on 1 Corinthians 3 - 7 years ago
"I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able, neither yet now are ye able." This is NOT what we are called in Christ to be; i.e. carnally minded, and never really able to eat the solid food of the deep things of God, so we can grow. A normal child looks up to grown-ups, and thinks about itself being grown up. So why would Christians want to stay toddlers in diapers?
  • Melissa on 1 Corinthians 3 - 7 years ago

God provides all we need in life. With godliness it doesn't matter who or what is the vessel provided it is purged He uses.

  • Bill on 1 Corinthians 3:3 - 9 years ago
A state of carnality regardless of duration is a possibility, according to the Scriptures. In an Old Testament sense, think of King Saul, who was saved but carnal. Think of Lot and Solomon, who were saved but carnal. In the New Testament, think of Ananias and Sapphira. God took their lives! Think of Peter who was carnal for a time. Think of Demas who forsook Paul and left the ministry in pursuit of worldliness. Think of those in 1 Cor. 11 who were carnal and partook of the Lord s table unworthily, and God killed them. They were carnal for the rest of their lives! Cr. James Hollandsworth Unsalty Christians
