Praise the living God, who was, who is and who is to come, may His name be praised forever and evermore. This verse is so beautiful, i just loves it, it increases my faith so much, it gives me so much courage, knowing that as i am a child of God, having been made rightous and being the righousness of God in Christ Jesus, i love God so much,as He has made it possible for me to love Him through His Holy Sprit whom He has given freely to me in my union with Lord Jesus Christ. This verse is so rich, full of hope. This verse gives me assurance,to know that there is more for me. Thank you.

I am learning this chapter and I like how we are not to judge others and to see them for whom the Lord has made them to be so to me it doesn't matter what a person looks like what matters is what is inside that person
  • Conrad chitibwi isaac JR on 1 Corinthians 2:9 - 10 years ago

This verse give me theg great honour to know that because i am born again ,i am chosen to see,to hear and to comprehend all what God has for me.the only one thing i have to do is to take the devine life , the gift of righteousness, the grace of God.all what is in God is given to me by his spirit.so this is only given to the born again children of God.those who are not born again can never comprehend what we have in christ jesus.this is hidden to the world.is only revealed to us the beloveth of God.pPraise God!!!!!!!!.

this was said ti me in a church in 2001 (I think)
my eyes have been opened since april this year 2013. it broke my heart to see what was happening , so much so that i honestly cried out to god for help. i called a minister in the middle of the night because i hadnt been able to sleep for approx 2 weeks . what i saw made me physicaly sick (honeslty ) after praying to god I was able to rest & get some sleep. this is all new to me. ive even been reading the bible to understand better. all ill say is that things are going to get very bad. so if you a re reading this i ask you to collect non perishable food & probably water. have a bible handy I have jehovas witness one & a study guide. if anyone is hungry it would be good to have something for them to eat. oh , have a bible handy. good luck . im thinking of you. love, glen

  • Styles on 1 Corinthians 2:9 - 10 years ago
I really love this scripture because we has individuals we cant look at people for their outward appears we must be spiritual at all time. For the spirit of carnality can creep in and make you beleive that all is well but God.God have the last say on your life. Prepare a table in the presence of your enemies.
  • Richard on 1 Corinthians 2:11 - 10 years ago
is good that i have hear this quotation
  • Tom Goff on 1 Corinthians 2:14 - 10 years ago
1 cor 2:14 helps the believer come to terms in his or her own mind with those to whom we have spoken the word of God, and they have rejected the idea of God's Word. It gives us the 'why?' answer we so desire. God's Word is so life changing, so awesome, the non acceptance of it seems impossible to us. It is our responsibility to hold it forth with all our ability, but it is not up to us who receives it and who rejects it. We do our job by speaking it in love.
  • Tryphina Mokgadi Rametsi on 1 Corinthians 2:5 - 10 years ago
put your hope in the hand of God-take your soul, spirit and heart in the wisdom of the creator.
  • Mary on 1 Corinthians 2 - 10 years ago
I to feel the writer of this gospel, is trying to let God's people know we have something wonderful to come to when this world comes to it's end. Jesus Christ will be there to comfort and love us. Like he said He is the light in a very dark world. Just believe.
  • Tally on 1 Corinthians 2:9 - 11 years ago
This verse is an amazing example of the intensity of Gods love for us and the awesome sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • R. D. Mattock on 1 Corinthians 2 - 11 years ago
On verse 9, Paul begins to write of that city with foundations not made by human hands. But whose builder and maker is God. John said it was amazing, he said the walls were as Jasper, he said there were 12 gates made of pearl, and each individual gate was a single pearl. He said this city had 12 foundations and each one of the 12 foundations had a different of precious stone. He said that city was as glimmering solid gold. He said I saw the streets of the city they were like gold and transparent as glass. I look and saw a throne of God, there out of the throne of God flows a crystal river called the river of life. It flows out of the throne of God and it flowed all around the regions thereof. And he said there were trees on the banks of this river, trees of life, and they bore a different kind of fruit every month. The leaves on the trees were for the healing of the nations. And he said there was something different, there was no sun there, no moon there, because of the Glory of God was the light of the city, and the lamb was the lamp thereof. God's presence was so great there was no need for the sun. He said there was no night there because the Glory of God totally illuminates the place throughout eternity, and people were able to go in and out of the city. This is what waits the righteous. John said something else: thine eyes shall see the King in his beauty. Thank God for the glory and beauty of Heaven, but thank him most of all for my risen lord, who loved me and gave his life for me.
  • Rhoda on 1 Corinthians 2:9 - 11 years ago
    Great verse! Very encouraging!
  • Timothy Wayne George on 1 Corinthians 2 - 11 years ago
Praise God we speak the wisdom of God, and not of this world. If the princes of this world had known wisdom, they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory. We are the aroma of Christ; to them that are saved the smell of life, and to them that are lost the smell of death. So we speak the mystery of God, which is Christ in you the hope of glory. May the risen Lord bless you to share this good news where ever He sends you this year.
  • Doris on 1 Corinthians 2 - 11 years ago
This chapter has really made me to love the Lord, more and more. Like the bible said the word of GOD is powerful.
  • Alicia on 1 Corinthians 2 - 11 years ago
Verse 15, But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. It's true that God is the final judge as far as welcoming his good and faithful servants or saying depart from me, I never knew you. There are other judgments also, Are our judgments biased or based on God's word? Knowing what is just, righteous, correct is judgment also. Right and Wrong are judgments like the son shall not be judged for the fathers sin. We shall all be judged according to the works we do in our own body. We receive pardon and favor in God's eyes when we repent from our sins and accept Jesus as our Savior and Lord.
  • Zenaida subrabas on 1 Corinthians 2:9 - 11 years ago
The writer stressed the very limited capacity of man to imagine the things that God has prepared for His people for even man himself cannot imagine the beauty of the paradise prepared by God for those who truly love and adore Him. It is beyond description as a line of a song goes. If one can comprehend the truth of this verse wholeheartedly, undoubtedly, he would not fear physical death because it would be the gateway to this indescribable beauty. But the question is can we really say "I love you, Lord ". Without feeling a pinch of guilt for all we know we are not worthy to utter, knowing our sinfulness, most of all greed. Are we worthy of that prepared haven? Thanks be to the Lord Jesus for it is He that will make us worthy through the shed blood of His on the cross.
  • Shelly on 1 Corinthians 2:9 - 11 years ago
You can't imagine and haven't given it a thought of the great things that are in store for you in your future; it's especially for them who love God.
  • GAYLE on 1 Corinthians 2 - 11 years ago
As sinners, we cannot understand things of GOD, JESUS and the HOLY SPIRIT. When we get saved, the Holy Spirit moves into our hearts and dwells there. HE never leaves us, goes wherever we go. HE guides us, protects us (from ourselves mainly). HE helps understand what the BIBLE tells us we should do, such as (after Salvation) go to Church, read our Bibles, live Godly lives, clean up our mouths, be active in bringing others to HIM by our actions and our words.
  • Gwen on 1 Corinthians 2 - 11 years ago
To those who may have died and I say you should know this is your day to come home. It is with the confession of your mouth and the believing in your heart that you over come also. You died because you stopped believing on the Lord Jesus Christ. Paul also stated that to me to live is Christ how many of us have gone to our own thinking and not leaning on the Word (Jesus) that is what we must do every day lean on and in the Word of God. For as it is written that the power be of God and not of man, you stopped believing in Jesus and started leaning to your own understanding. The Righteous Brothers said it this way, You've lost that loving feeling" and that is what it was a feeling not a believing. Step back to the mercy and grace of God and acknowledge that you left God and not He you, believe that His love for you is everlasting After all He has kept you thus far and will keep you until the end. "That your wisdom be not of man but in the power of God.

A mans faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but should stand in the Power of God.[5]

    The eye has not seen,
    The ear has not heard,
    The heart has not perceived,
The things which God has prepared for them that love Him. [9]

10But God hath revealed [them] unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

For no man knows what is in another mans heart, except the spirit of that person which is in him.

So no man knows the secrets of God, except the Spirit of God.[11]

Now we have received , not the spirit of the World , but the Spirit of God, that we may know the things that are freely given to us of God.[12]

We speak of these things, not in words which mans wisdom teaches, but in the words which the Holy Ghost teaches.

Relating spiritual things to the Spiritual realm.

The natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God.
The natural man cannot discern the things of the Spirit of God:
For they are foolishness to him.
Neither can a natural man know the things of the Spirit of God:
    For they are spiritually discerned.

15But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

Only God is qualified to judge all things.

An upright man does not query or question Gods Decrees and Judgements.

16For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
  • James on 1 Corinthians 2:12 - 12 years ago
We have received the spirit which is of God. This talks about our new heart that is receptive to the Holy Spirit.
  • Kim on 1 Corinthians 2 - 12 years ago
The Lord used this verse to help me understand the difference between lost people who are spiritually dead and saved people who are spiritually alive in Christ.Only the Holy Spirit, living inside true believers, can give the spiritual discernment needed to truly understand God's word.
  • Sylvia on 1 Corinthians 2 - 13 years ago
i belive that we are given this gift but not because we are of the world but because we do this unto others. the spirit is a beautiful thing in us that no man has right to but only to him that has given us this gift and all other things we have been given. 1-corinthians 2 teach us the love of god. if he lives in us and we live in him together we can give this gift to all of the world.is how we live an think while we are in the world.
  • Geoffrey on 1 Corinthians 2 - 13 years ago
We can recieve spiritual gifts and talents(endowments) through the Holy Gohst when we are used as instruments of the fathers will. One is our sure known testimony of the gospel of jesus chrisna and its ever growing stronger. When sharing this testimony with others it is helpful to live in a way that allows for the spirit to be at your side (to pierse onto others on believing in Our heavenly fathers plan, throughthe atonement of our oldest brother jesus the blessed, amen.
