1 Corinthians 15:29, it is true that there are people on earth who are baptized for the Dead or on behalf of the Dead as the scripture says. This is the baptism which most people do not, not even some pastors on earth. It is the baptism of the holy spirit. Apostles know about what I mean. If you are baptized of water only, please try to meet the apostles, ask them, you will get help for free. Read Acts 8:14-20 for more understanding. There are two kinds of baptism which Christians must undergo! That is: baptism of water and baptism of the holy spirit. Unfortunately ONLY the apostles are given the authority to baptize with holy spirit. So people must meet them! Please start looking for apostles.

By spirit, this last enemy had been destroyed already by Jesus on the cross but itll be manifested at the end of everything, when those who are living with Jesus will be raised from death.

Those whose hope in Christ only terminate peaceably in this life and never draw for themselves blank checks of evils to give themselves maximum mundane satisfaction.

There are 3 resurrections. The first one is the reign of 1000 years as indicated ( Revelation 20:3) and a better resurrection ( Hebrews 11:35). The second is the last 100 years when Satan will be loosed for a while ( Revelation 20:7). The third is the lake of fire where enemies of the Creator will be thrown in and burnt up to nothing. Out of the 759 commandments/biblical laws, the particular ones that apply to us - I take it, that it is the amount of commandments that you do to "overcome the world" that will get you into your own order, be it the first or the second.

I am a member of Old Apostolic Church we also belive inthe sence of a baptizem that is talk about the people who are passed away long ago, aspecial those people who where doing good things. Our leaders when we ask them about this meaning they said was the vision cames from GOD, that those family members that died befor accepting the word of GOD are the ones that are baptized for by those ones are live.

I Corinthians; Chapter 15, tells the tale of the transition of the spiritual body from the flesh. Those of us that have fallen asleep or awake in Christ Shall be changed in the blink of an eye. The Trumpet will sound and the dead in Christ shall rise first to be caught up in the air with Jesus. This chapter reminds me of the process in which a butterfly undergoes its stages of life from a larvae to a butterfly. We are larvae on this earth, we all will fall asleep and wait until the return of our Lord Jesus Christ, and when the trumpet sounds we shall be changed as the larvae exits that cacoon in a different body than the one it fell asleep in; so shall we.

The Gospel stands on these tenets of our faith:
The death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is the good news that we proclaim, and we are saved by this good news.
All the leaders of the religions died, and they are still dead. Jesus Christ who is the author, and finisher of our faith in Christianity died, and on the third day he rose from the dead. The last enemy that he distroyed is death, and he rose with all power in his hand. At the name of Jesus every knee will bow, and every one will confess that he is Lord to the glory of God the father. So if you will believe in your heart that God hath raised Jesus from the dead, and confess that Jesus is Lord you will be saved. Thank God that in a world filled with bad news, there is good news, and this is the Gospel that we preach.

Verbatim response to Mike's comment on 9/12/2011, 10:13am... ("how can a criminal steal and GOD almighty will sacrifice is only son for the criminal.)

Although the criminal knows death is the punishment, he doesnot want to die. God the just merciful, loving and just judge knows, and out of his love for the criminal, he sacrifices his son, to save the criminal's life provided the criminal belives in God' son, hence John 3:17. GOD'S LOVE IS NO WHERE ALLUDED TO THAN IN John 3:16 .

Once the criminal finds the deal too good to resist, HE HAS NO TIME TO UNDERSTAND, BUT TAKES THE DEAL STARIGHT AWAY, BEFORE THE CRAZE JUDGE CHANGES HIS MIND, AND GETS ANOTHER CHANCE TO LIVE. Mike if you were the criminal would you drop such a deal questioning God's ways and wisdom? By the way have you embraced God's love through Christ?

    HOW DOES IT WORK?

The criminal simply believes in the son of God as the propitiation for his crime- 1 John 2:2, confess the crime (or loads the crime on Christ to pay the penality), repents (deliberate decision not to commit the crime again) and gets baptised (symbol of renewal unto salvation Mark 16:16) and receives the Spirit of God ( Acts 2:38) to enable him to steal no more, and live an abundant life. The criminal is obliged to find the book ( bible) about the God of love and his son the epitome of the same, and reads it daily to develop the relationship with that God through his son.

The criminal finds a congregation (Church) of forgiven criminals ( saved, born again or believers) and fellowships, as he reaches out to others to embrace the pardon and live again.

Mike it is not easy to understand (as the song goes, " it wasnot easy, but was worthwhile) once you are not the criminal whose life lies at the noose of the hungman's mercy after the "verdit by the gavel" went, "guilty condemend to crucify!!!!!!!", otherwise, to a criminal the deal is too good to querry God's wisdom.

Another part of the question another time once by the grace of God. We love you Mike and pray for you. (SELW)

THE FIRST MAN ADAM FELL WHEN HE DISOBEYED GOD'S COMMAND. ADAM RECEIEVED A TWISTED LIE FROM THE SERPENT AND IN DOING SO HE BROUGHT UPON HIMSELF AND MANKIND DEATH. HE FIRST DIED SPIRITUALLY THEN YEARS LATER NATURALLY.BEFORE HIS FALL ADAM HAD A PERFECT RELATIONSHIP WITH OUR FATHER. HE KNEW NO SIN- WAS IN THE LIGHT.DEATH CAME UPON ALL THROUGH
THE FALL ADAM'S HUMAN NATURE CAME ALIVE- DESIRING
TO BE LIKE GOD-AND HIS SELFISH NATURE- CARNAL MINDSET COULD NOT REMAIN IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD. SO HE WAS DRIVEN OUT OF THE PRESENCE OF GOD.
BUT GOD HAD A PLAN BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD- TO RESTORE MANKIND TO HIS ORIGINAL STATE.
TO GIVE HIM BACK HIS AUTHORITY AND DOMINION IN THE BEGINNING- ( GENESIS 1:26-28)
    GENESIS 3:15- AND I WILL PUT ENMITY(HATRED,
HOSTILITY) BETWEEN THEE AND THE WOMAN, AND BETWEEN THY THY SEED (DEMONS) AND HER SEED ;(JESUS) IT SHALL BRUISE THY HEAD, AND THOU SHALT BRUISE HIS HEEL. (THIS IS THE VICTORY RIGHT HERE)
BECAUSE WHEN JESUS GAME HE DIED FOR THE SINS OF ALL THE WORLD. THAT WE MAY BE FORGIVEN OF OUR SINFUL NATURE. THERE HAD TO BE A RANSOME TO BUY US BACK. THE BIBLE SAYS WITHOUT THE SHEDDING OF BLOOD THERE IS NO REMISSION FOR SIN. THANK YOU JESUS FOR UNDOING WHAT ADAM DID IN THE GARDEN- LORD UNDONE IT ON THE CROSS WITH YOUR BLOOD.

You will be saved, whether you like it or not. Your choices are Eternal Life or Neverending Death. Those are your only two choices.

We're here until we figure it out and fill ourselves with Eternity Godly attributes: Love, Joy, Hope, Grace, Patience, Longsuffering (Patience under trial and pain), Gratefulness and the Eternal Godly Powers: Guidance, Influence and Belief.

God is PERFECT. God's Desire is for you to have Eternal Life. ALL OF US. It's hard to believe, but it's easy to Know: Perfect is Perfect. Eternal Perfect Desires make things happen every single time.

"Being Saved" won't be delivered by an Idol worship that has been personalized and worn as "Christian beliefs" as one Iudges others to Hell. If one can't say for absolute certain that "Christ has risen", then that person can not yet Hear His Voice. Eternity is delivered by acquiring within oneself the The Spirit of Christ. It's not by asking for selfish forgiveness, but rather by filling oneself with Grace and Love and Joy and Patience and all of the Godly attributes. You are forgiven with automatic Grace when you become full of Grace.

Iudgments are offered by ONE. YOU! Judge not, but rather discern.

Time isn't a straight line. Babies who are born and die take what may be many branches on their own tree of life. We all do until we learn the lessons of the stupifying Tree of Knowledge.
  • GypsiesforJesus on 1 Corinthians 15 - 12 years ago
Verses 12-19 seem to lay a foundation for this statement in my opinion. Therein is described a pointlessness of faith for Christians if there is no resurrection, for Christ would still be dead. If someone believes there is no resurrection and yet they were baptized as a believer in Christ, they would be "baptized for the dead," because Christ is the firstfruit of the resurrection.

So one help me understand the meaning of verse 29.
  • Ben weaver on 1 Corinthians 15:22 - 13 years ago
V.22. Does this verse indicate that all humanity of all time has redemption imputed to them? This would solve the problem of babies that die and all who have not been able to choose Jesus. Might it be that Rev. 20:15 and 21:8, about the final lake of fire, refers to all persons who have knowingly and defiantly rejected God and deliberately identified themselves with the devil and his angels? This would cause those to be fearful in God's presence. And, might Matt. 7:14, about few entering the way to life, be refering to this earthly abundant life that he gives for now. The context there seems to be practical living principals under the law and the prophets. Jesus is still the only way to God and his heaven, but our ability to comprehend and properly grasp would be replaced by grace imputed as for eternity. This is only a shallow interpretation and I plead for corrections.

  • James on 1 Corinthians 15 - 13 years ago
People rely on good works to get them to heaven or to please God. We should realize that good works are done with full submission to our Lord and Saviour. In a sense of the words good works, I think make the law death.
