In the Vines Greek Bible dictionary : Tells you to go to love : Love : Charity is love of a perfect Being : God : being expressed totally toward to entirely unworthy objects , me , a desire to help others seek the Giver of love : God : Love Charity seeks the welfare of all. I must back up what I believe by the word of God : Else it will fall to the ground and have none effect.

For God is love. His love endures forever. Thanks to Jesus precious blood that shed for us, his love and mercy will follow us all the days of our lives. We must keep thanking God and praised him for everything he have done into our life. Obey God 's words and love and keep them until rapture. He have commanded us to love one another as God loves us. We are saved by grace.. thank you Lord Jesus for being faithful to your promises. Amen
  • Bonney O. on 1 Corinthians 13:10 - 8 years ago
Paul made used of the words "now " and "then ". He stated that faith, charity and hope abide in the "now " state, and since these three words hope, faith and charity still exist after the completion of the Bible means that the "then " state of perfection is still in the future-yet to come Christ coming. Because in the "then " state we shall see face to face- no more faith.

Is this passage really all that complicated? Well, maby not so. Keeping the parabolic context in place, the content in and of itself is cautionary a "yield sign " if you will. There will always come the Godly revelation to progress from the dependence of fleshy provisions to dependence of spiritual enlightenment.
  • KEKE on 1 Corinthians 13:4 - 9 years ago

God is love. When God dwells in us his love is manifested in our lives. In first John 4:7-8 it says, love is of God and every one that loveth is born of God. He that loveth not knoweth not God for God is love. Again it says in 1 John 5:2 -3 by this we know me love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his comandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grevious. In Romans 5:5 it says, and hope maketh not ashamed because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the holy Ghost which is given in us. It is the love of God in the heart of the true believer that keeps him in the narrow path, the harder way the Word, Christ. It is the love of God in the heart of the believer that keeps him in the doctrine of Christ and therefore in God for it says in 1John 1:9 whoso transgresseth and and abides not in the doctrine of Christ hath no God. Love hopeth all things, believeth all things in other words it abounds in the faith of Jesus endures all things in other words it abides in the word in sword nakedness, peril and famine etc love rejoice in the truth which is the word of God . In other words the person dwelling in love is perfect in all the divine virtues of Christ 2 Peter 2 . The living love of of Jesus Christ in his bride is a living evidence of his purchase and evidence that his quickening power has raised him from deadness in sin and trespasses and now his life is pulsating through him.

Prophesy impart, is base on the revelation that God has given to you, base on your present dept in Christ and I agree that since God is all knowing, it 's impossible for one person to grasp or comprehend all of God 's Knowledge, so he shows individual a glimpse of his knowledge and another person also a glimpse, hence the reason we prophesy in part.
  • Lilian on 1 Corinthians 13 - 9 years ago
There is one thing that Jesus will never forget us is his love. Jesus cannot stop loving us, His mercy and goodness is for all of us but the salvation is only for those who follow Jesus, believe in Jesus that he is the Son of the Living God and who obey 's Jesus commandments will be saved. John 3:5 Except a man who is not Born Again in spirit cannot enter into the kingdome of God. Jesus wants us to invite him to dwell in our life so that we will be saved. We must love Jesus praise him and thank hime for everything he had done to our lives for he is faithful to his promises that he will never leave us nor forsake us. Jesus loves u and me

I think that what 1 Cor. is saying is that if we don 't have love we can not be a light.

  • Karen P on 1 Corinthians 13:7 - 9 years ago
I am fervently and diligently seeking and striving to demonstrate this toward all people daily. As I grow in God,I am able to see mankind with a different perspective. We are frail and only here for a season. As we entered we definitely will exit. Prayerfully the time spent in between we will have learned that loving God with every fiber of our being causes us to even love our enemies. It is the opposing spirit using them to do evil. Many times you can actually see the spirit working through them. I continue loving that person, praying that God will turn them in the right direction. Pray without ceasing because prayer changes things...particularly people.

"love " is a STATE OF BEING. It is not an emotion and it is not an act. This chapter is speaking clearly as to what is considered "nothing ", even though many in this world would have defined those very things as loving and indeed they may have been lov.. "ing ". All humanity has the ability to do loving things to and with and for others. However, the Scriptures separate those acts from a "loving state " which can only be had via the Holy Ghost as He leads us into our own sanctification to become more and more and more like our Heavenly Father. God is love! We only achieve this state of being by following the dictates of God 's Spirit!
  • Kolobe on 1 Corinthians 13:6 - 9 years ago
God called us into righteousness not unrighteousness, He called us so that we may live with peace and harmony, if we follow his commandments, for his word is truth and Faithful.

The original Greek word for perfect is teleios.this is an adjative meaning perfect, mature, finished. This can only describe the world after the second coming of Christ. It is not a noun. This is per the cross references in the Keyword Hebrew-Greek study bible 1996 edition NIV version.

    The conclusion of the Bible.

This chap. talks about love, how love should conduct itself, It is the shining example of Jesus, look at all he went through on the cross, he did not fight back, he just took whatever they dished out, and that is the example we should strive for, to be more like him, we should read and study this chap. as often as possible and try to live what we have learned, that 's what Jesus did when he lived on this earth, he went to the cross for us, because he knew we needed saving and non of us couldn 't do it, so he did, I thank him and Praise him for that!
  • Simon soh on 1 Corinthians 13 - 9 years ago
Yes, prophets still exist. God sent His only Son to us and want us to listen to Him only. For those who believed in the Son of God, Jesus Christ, will also receive the Spirit of Christ that dwells in them. He is your Spiritual prophet. But do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits whether are they from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Its saying to me... 2 Me!!! We all are blind to who he is GOD His son Jesus Christ like children to Santa Claus... When I was blind to the truth I spoke as a child acted as a child and even thought as one... Now that I 'm born again and know who our Lord and Savior is I became a Man Put my sinful ways behind me... Alot of us grown folks are still children because we haven 't learned the basic instructions before we leave earth... We All Are GODS Children
  • Onyame Charles on 1 Corinthians 13 - 9 years ago
Do we have prophets on the land today?
  • Kourtney on 1 Corinthians 13:13 - 9 years ago
Charity means love that is why it is the greatest one out of all three. 1 John 4:7-8 reads Beloved, let us love one another for love is from God and whoever loves has been born of God and know God. Anyone who does not love does not know God because God is love.....So to love is to know God, and to know God is everything. so charity is love.
  • Jim on 1 Corinthians 13:10 - 9 years ago
The Bible puts a high premium on written revelation Johns writings The hebrews put a premium on signs and written revelation-gentiles by in large were not interested in signs and wonders bot primarly knowlege-first 100 yrs church was still made up of many jews,we see much jewish referances laced in the new testiment-acts to rev-This being said none of the gifts are needed because we have 'a more sure word of prophecy " 2 peter 1:19 also please note in 2 peter 3:16 peter refers to pauls writing as hard to be understood,so there were already scripures being identified as written word of God that would be completed at a later date.My biggest concern is if we dont interpret corinth 13:10 as perfect meaning the complete cannon of scripture we open up ourselved to extra biblical revelation-ask the 900 people who perished under the false prophet jim jones-they never consulted the written word that stands sure.
  • Faye Rod on 1 Corinthians 13:10 - 9 years ago
When people use this Scripture to say the gifts have ceased it really quenches the Holy Spirit. Imagine how it would be if the Body of Christ was operating in the full power of the early Church.
  • DeWayne Wilson on 1 Corinthians 13 - 9 years ago
What I want to point out is that these attributes are the characteristics of love. To receive these characteristics we must be born again because God is all these characteristics. Man can 't do these attributes in his own power he must be born of God. No other way!
