  • Mary on 1 Corinthians 13 - 5 years ago
I love the part of today's scripture that says love suffers all, bears all things, does not seek its own. God's love is unconventional, beyond understanding. it is reckless and doesn't remember self. It travels the extreme to draw us nearer to him. I want to 'love' really.

1 John 3:10, "In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil..." John 8:44, "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do." Only saved people are children of God. All other people are children of the devil.

I read the comments and wonder if there is any knowledge left, does anyone have The Holy Ghost, does anyone receive the gift of revelation of knowledge , does anyone know that being saved from the wrath and salvation are two different things? I pray for you all to study to show thyself approved unto God a workman that needeth not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth.
  • Gonzalo on 1 Corinthians 13 - 5 years ago
The main topic of Corinthians 13 : 1 is "Charity" and none of the comments even mentioned, ignored completely.
  • Vance Brown on 1 Corinthians 13 - 5 years ago
That it is the TRUE meaning of LOVE an AGAPE LOVE that can withstand the test of times.
  • A disciple on 1 Corinthians 13 - 5 years ago
Dear Brother Kurt; You bring up a very interesting topic, that I think is somewhat misunderstood, or misrepresented. As you said, we know as Christians, that the way up is down: he that humbles himself shall be exalted. But there were places where the Lord spoke of these things not condemning the desire for recognition and praise when it is fitting; but for the self love seeking vain glory.
  • Kurt Chappell on 1 Corinthians 13 - 5 years ago
Love as God and Jesus teach vs. man’s love of works: Martin Luther describes this difference. Some modern churches and/or members are caught up in pride. It can be destructive for all as we redefine Jesus saying, “ it is finished.” Human pride Jesus had none yet it’s a great sin we follow, doing works for recognition or recompense. Missions teaches me about this most humbling of Christian tenets.

For God gave us love for the betterment of mankind. To love others as we love are selfs. Not the selfish kind of love but the God kind of love.Which is Peace ,Love ,And , Happiness ,Harmony. Is the best for us...JESUS
  • Smeshque on 1 Corinthians 13 - 6 years ago
God' love, is there before, during, and after it is needed. Humans often say they love, but don't exe ute what love means as in 1 Cor.13. The church wants to love like they have faith. With no works. And neither, love nor faith is executed without works. They both are action words.
  • RMB on 1 Corinthians 13 - 6 years ago
GOD love is so greater so power beyond any human ability that's why it important to allow GOD to live on the inside of us and love though us. Without GOD we don't know how to love.

Verse 11~As we grow spiritually we must put away childish traits and strive to imitate the Christ more fully.
  • 2ChromeEyes on 1 Corinthians 13 - 6 years ago
What I think about 1Corinthians 13:13 is that it is far too commonly passed over, misunderstood, and not applied, by so many believers today.
  • Swchu on 1 Corinthians 13 - 6 years ago
Interesting and rewarding source knowledge for happy growth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Joanne stern on 1 Corinthians 13 - 6 years ago
I love these verses. God looks at our hearts. Not what we do, but why do we do it. Are we wanting to be center stage or do we want to praise and glorify GOD?
  • BSP on 1 Corinthians 13 - 6 years ago
This chapter is a beautiful description of how love should cause us to behave and how it should restrain us from behaving.
  • Charles Bonsu on 1 Corinthians 13 - 6 years ago
    Amen.
  • Peter A. Okebukola on 1 Corinthians 13 - 6 years ago

  • Ray321 on 1 Corinthians 13 - 6 years ago
Proverbs 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. We must not puff ourselves in how good we are in the Word. We must love the young child of God not put them down because of there milk they take. Love my friends .
  • JIM KIRKPATRICK on 1 Corinthians 13 - 7 years ago
I FEEL PERHAPS FROM THE HOLY SPIRIT HOW MUCH I LOVE JESUS. ALTHOUGH I HAVE NEVER MET HIM IN PERSON I CAN FEEL HIM WITH ME ALL THE TIME.THE BIBLE SAYS THERE IS A FRIEND THAT STICKS CLOSER THAN A BROTHER, THAT IS JESUS CHRIST TO ME. YOU FEEL IT IN YOUR HEART AND WANT TO BE WITH HIM ALL THE TIME LIKE A 5 YEAR OLD CHILD YOU HAVE. THANK YOU LORD JESUS FOR SAVING A SINNER LIKE ME.
  • Lilian on 1 Corinthians 13 - 7 years ago
When we were a child we speak like a child understand like a child and thought like a child when we became woman and a man we put our childish things away . In life This is how Jesus will brought us higher into a new level but Jesus wants us to behave like a child to him coz he loves us we are the apple of his eyes thank you Jesus for giving us life in abundance for your mercy love and grace
  • BSP on 1 Corinthians 13 - 7 years ago
This verse explains how we should grow. When we were children we could only take in so much information, but as we grow older we are expected to take in deeper things. Our Bible study should be deeper over the years as we grow.
  • Dennis L on 1 Corinthians 13 - 7 years ago
Joanne stern, I completely agree with you. I love the King James Bible translation. It grieves me to hear any number of versions being used by preachers who in all other respects are solid and conservative. I also believe it is confusing to have different versions being used from the pulpit and the church body trying to follow the reading in their own Bibles which are not the same.
