What do I think, well this is the love of God and man must be born of God to have this love. Man is not born with this love that is why Jesus said you must be born again. When you become born of God then and only then will you see this love manifested in your life. God is this love and is the only place you can get it.

presently we do not fully understand what we are passing through now,but later we shall fully understand them in the future, when God has completed His work in our lives, we will now have the full understanding revelation of what we have been going through and why we went through them.

Jesus rose on the first day of the week. That is why Christians worship on the first day of the week. It is clear. Look to the Bible, not the Catholic church. Look up all the verses in Acts when the first century Christians met for worship. It is called the Lord 's day. The first day of the week. The Resurrection day. The Catholic church wasn 't even in existence then. The Sabbath was made for man. The old law was nailed to the cross. Period. Acts 20 7, 1Corinthians 16 1,2, Revelation 1 10, the Lord 's day. God wants us to worship on the redemptive day. The first day of the week, instituted when Christ rose from the dead and followed by the first century church, which was started on the Day of Pentecost.

The Sabbath, there are countless of people that may be walking a fine line on this subject, and I don 't want to say one way or another, but the fact is GOD never changed the Sabbath day, man did or to be more exact the roman catholic church did, now I don 't about you but I choose to obey GOD not an arrogant church who thinks they can usurp authority over GOD! see for yourselves go to google type in roman catholic Sabbath day, read it and weep! AMEN

I see pages of comments of people quibbling over the word, to paraphrase the Apostle Paul, we know in part and we see in part, and until he which is perfect is come will we know as we are known, we see the truth as looking thru a dark glass, but it 's just the image of the truth, there 's only certain absolutes here are some, GOD 'S OMNIPOTENCE, HIS LAWS, HIS ORDER, HIS SON, HIS SACRIFICE, HIS LOVE, to name a few. AMEN

Yes Dele, the word charity is wrongly translated in chapter 13.I happen to read my Bible in Greek and the word is "Agapi " which means "love " and not charity. In fact we refer to A CORINTHIANS CHAPTER 13 " the chapter of Love ".
  • Dele on 1 Corinthians 13 - 9 years ago
Lisa, this verse is not talking about that kind of "charity ". The real "hebrew " translation of this verse is "Love ". Without going deep into the hebrew word , verse 4 says "Charity suffereth long ", does that make sense? Is like telling your husband do you charity me? The true meaning here is love. Love suffereth long, Love is kind. Verse 8 says "Charity never fails " is still talking about Love. Now watch verse 3, You could give all your belongings good to the poor that is charity the kind you are describing, the dictionary definition of charity right? but Paul continues... "and I have no Charity " I am nothing. That renders your definition of charity meaningless here. So that verse should be translated and "Though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor...if I have no love I am nothing ".

I love this! This is my measuring stick so to speak, if I could truly learn to love like this then I would be more like Jesus!!! I would be more affective for Christ! More folks would want to know him! We have the ability to change the atmosphere when we love with no expectations and no limits! Praise God that he loved us first!!!!!!! Make this your aim as a true believer of Jesus Christ! I love you!

Love is the most important of all, because if we do not have Love, we do not have God. God is Love.
  • J.Gordon Macintyre on 1 Corinthians 13:1 - 9 years ago
I just think that this is so apt and true in this day and age and these difficult times. It is so very beautiful also. I am trying to read my Bible from beginning to end again, last done when I was about twenty six or so, sixty years ago. I think it will take abut two months. I find it very comforting and beautiful. • Terry on 1 Corinthians 13 - 9 years ago
Corinthians 1 chapters 11 to 13 I disagree 11. Growing up is a passage from this world to the next. 12. In this world we have little knowledge but when we pass on we will understand. 13. Jesus Christ 's most important lesson to us in this world is one word Love. If we love one another, all his other lessons fall into place.

No matter how it 's translated, no matter what biblical, socioeconomic lens one chooses to view that chapter and verse, the foundational understanding that should be considered is how much of the three yea four are displayed in the totality of our lives? Love is God, therefore Love empowers, infuses our Faith, Hope Charity, to individually and corporately exist in the concerns of this world. They are individually wrapped together in the same bonding affect effect of the heart of Jesus Christ. Wouldn 't you agree?
  • Ele, Stephen on 1 Corinthians 13:1 - 9 years ago
from the biblical point of view, God is love and his word is love and the word was made flesh, and dwelt among us the word is Jesus therefore, what Paul is saying even though we have these gifts without Jesus is in vain because the gift of God is without repentance. 3Jon3vs1 said behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God.The love, God bestow on us, was Jesus and any one that have Jesus and allowed Jesus to control his will that person exibit true love. 1cor13vs3 and though i bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though i give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profited me nothing. The early chruch experience this true love and was able to express it because of the sincenlity of their heart.Acts2vs1b they were all with one accord.
  • Roslyn B Melvin on 1 Corinthians 13 - 9 years ago
God showed us His love by clothing Himself in the likeness of sinful flesh yet without sin so we can have opportunity to fellowship with Him again like Adam did before sin was part of man 's nature.
  • Oscar O Ngomane on 1 Corinthians 13 - 9 years ago
In this charpter I learn that God is not intrested in the Out comes, but the reason why U have done, this charity, to gain attention or to help the need one, coz U love yo neighbour as thy self... Heeh

Oh my God that is a wonderful word of God.Love is vital cause it covers a multitude of sins.
  • Tim George on 1 Corinthians 13 - 9 years ago
Now abides faith, hope, and love, but the greatest of these is love. Agape love is the greatest love, for it is that unconditional love that we have for others. We are willing to share this worlds goods with those in need, and to pray for their well being. Jesus said that by this shall all men know that ye are my disciples by the love that ye have one for the other.
  • MALCOLM HARRISON on 1 Corinthians 13:13 - 9 years ago
Charity is a gift. Love is an aspect of Charity. So what is the greatest?
