It is absolutely true that who never faced difficulty in life will say that but those who have seen and receive protection they know exactly the power of the cross.
  • Steven James on 1 Corinthians 1:17 - 9 years ago
The preaching of the cross is the gospel. As he Paul states: Lest the cross of Christ be made of not effect. The answer for all the problems of life and living for God are found totally in the cross our faith must be put squarely in Christ and in Him crucified. none of our works can justify us only one thing justifies. Just as if we never sinned. and that 's faith in Christ and Him crucified. put your faith in nothing you can do or say to justify you, to live for God correctly is putting your faith in Christ and Him crucified. The cross of Christ. And what he accomplished there at Calvary.

This passage speaks against denominations and other divisions. All Christians are supposed to believe and do the same things. This means believing and doing all that is true and godly. This further means not following ecumenism, New Age, Zionism, etc. There should be no embracing of anything false, whther it be teachers, teachings, bibles, etc. And, we should not divide when some of us do believe wrongly. Churches should be run by godly men, who in turn will expel the fornicators, heretics, etc, from their churches. But, instead of fixing the problems and cleansing congregations, people split and hold onto erroneous teachings. Then, the situation worsens until there are millions of small churches, many of which believe erroneously. That is what is called "divide and conquer ". For churches have been divided, and one by one, are being conquered by wolves in sheep 's clothing.

We are blessed with natural things,we are Spirit lead in our speech,we are well versed in the word of God.So, we are equipped to meet the needs of anyone naturally and or Spiritually . We are BLESSED abundantly richly! !
  • Les DeSouza on 1 Corinthians 1:10 - 9 years ago
The passage speaks to each of us to listen to what the other believers views are, so that there can be no selfish considerations or monopoly on ideas as to what scripture says, but rather an earnest desire for truth within the entire body for the edifying of itself in Love through the Spirit.
  • Ron on 1 Corinthians 1 - 9 years ago
Most folks don 't teach or preach on verse 17,it goes against the grain. LOL
  • Brianna on 1 Corinthians 1:19 - 9 years ago
Awesome! Worldly wisdom is inferior to spiritual wisdom gained in the bible. World wisdom instituted the survival of the fittest, every man for himself, attitude that is so pertinent today. Godly wisdom promotes a sense of community and helping your fellow man. Worldly wisdom encourages people to indulge in every feel good pursuit regardless of the consequences. "Follow you heart " they say. Godly wisdom teaches self control and discipline. The bible says the heart is treacherous. It prevents us from doing things that will cause regret later. Clearly Biblical wisdom is far superior to mankind 's version of wisdom.
  • David J Wachira on 1 Corinthians 1 - 9 years ago
The congregation of the church at were from different nations and practiced different believes which was inconsistent with what Apostle Paul preached and under such circumstances, a conflict of interests surfaced. Therefore, Apostle Paul had to address the fallacies raised against him, arising from critics who questioned his authority on the gospel he preached of Jesus Christ. It is important for believers today to embrace salvation as an entity from God and never compare it with any other cultural practice if one wishes to experience spiritual renewal, revival and growth.

    Peace and Love
  • Bill on 1 Corinthians 1 - 9 years ago
When a vital relationship with Jesus through the Holy Spirit is missing among the saints, then real Christian liberty mutates into a legalistic styled sanctification, which is the Galatian error of legal or law living, or into a license styled sanctification, which is the Corinthian excess of toleration.
  • Marcos Montalvo on 1 Corinthians 1:18 - 9 years ago
God sees it all He makes all things new, My failures are His portraits. If I am a fool that 's because the Power of my God made me one.

  • MockingBird on 1 Corinthians 1:18 - 9 years ago
It is sad that people that profess that they are a Christian do not know of the reality of the cross of Jesus Christ. Truly the cross of Christ is the power of God unto salvation to all that believe and I believe !!!! I kneel at the cross much I would rather be a fool for God than a fool for the devil and his crowd.

Working together does work and only with constant pray and council will the spirit work it 's like you might want something to work but others don 't but if it 's the will of God it will work but constant pray and meditation haves to be there because the devil is always working.
  • Gr on 1 Corinthians 1 - 9 years ago
Please note that in verse 13 Paul asks the question was Paul crucified for you or were you baptized in the name of Paul? Of course what is intended here is that Jesus was crucified for them and they were baptized in the name of Jesus. We also know through reading I Corinthians that they were baptized with the Holy Spirit, ICor 12 13. How then was the Corinthian church saved? Repentance, baptism in the name of Jesus and receiving the Holy Spirit. This is the same message preached by Peter in Acts 2 38 and the same saving plan of salvation taken on by the Samaritans in Acts 8, Paul in Acts 9, Gentiles in Acts 10, Ephesians in Acts 19 and the Jews in Acts 2.
  • Darrell on 1 Corinthians 1 - 9 years ago
For God so loved the world he gave his only son now the world should love His Son in one church in one faith in one spirit.
  • Johnson on 1 Corinthians 1:10 - 9 years ago
we have to be on one accord in order for the Holy Spirit to perform GOD 's will in our lives. We need the Holy Spirit in everything we do in this life. Working together brings so much more result. In Genesis 11 6 GOD said, Let us go down "

  • Horne on 1 Corinthians 1 - 9 years ago
Verse 18 sums up the whole bible. Christ, God manifest in the flesh, and His sacrifice alone is our way back to in the Father. There 's one word, one life, one God three parts , one truth and one way. It is Gods power on Calvary, that man looks at as weakness but it is His strength. The world looks at the death resurrection of Christ as foolishness. It is the wisdom of God. Whom the Son sets free is FREE indeed. This is also our strength, victory, atonement, justification, cleansing, power, healing, adoption, baptism, abundant life, SALVATION, covering, rock, fortress, blood bought remission. God said if I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me. Amen, King, slain Lamb, Victor, Wonderful Consuler, God forever.

according to the word of God in 1cor 1, there should be no division in the house of God. no matter the name of your denominations, we all are one in the body of Christ. let us live behave like Jesus Christ himself.
  • Chidinma on 1 Corinthians 1 - 10 years ago
This chapter just expressed the power of the spirit and the reason why we have to depend on God s wisdom which is explained in chapter 25 as foolishness and his weakness as stronger than men We must follow the scriptures not act in the flesh and allow God s spirit to over rule every circumstances irrespective of what the situation We can never overcome anything by own wisdom and strength it will lead to mighty failure God is all powerful and his word will over power anything Amen

  • Valorie on 1 Corinthians 1:27 - 10 years ago
This verse truly shows that God is wise, impartial and just It amazes me how Christians seek to battle for placement as the smartest and most knowledgeable. When this is done with a haughty spirit, it does no one any good; simply shows a lack of immaturity and turns more people away from the Gospel than to it. This is where pride can be a relentless force in a Christian's life that it needs to be repented of and brought into submission. Some can easily discern this type of Christian. On the other hand we Christians are to be meek, humble and thankful for the gift God gave us in His Son, who came to earth in the flesh as an innocent baby of lowly estate. His strength is greatest in our weakness Amen
  • Karen on 1 Corinthians 1:21 - 10 years ago
As the Bible explains He made the world came into the world and the world knew Him not God was robed in flesh and it was in God s wisdom that people would not recognize Him but that only those who hear and receive the Truth would be saved As the Bible tells us had they known they crucified The Lord of Glory then they wouldn t have killed Jesus and God s plan could not occur 1 Cor 2 8 Those who believe that Jesus is God the Son haven t known God I Cor 8 6 tells us that there is one God the Father Jesus as Is 9 6 says is the Mighty God everlasting Father It was God s wisdom that He took the form of man and most people didn t recognize Him Hope this is helpful to someone
