Discussion for 1 Corinthians 7

  • A disciple
Stephen; I am so very thankful for the Lord's gentleness and forgiveness for taking me back as well, and not letting the devil destroy me while I was out there! There are many of us who have been betrayed and mistreated by those whom we loved and trusted, and have foolishly reacted by taking a bad turn into sin because of it. There's a lot of wisdom we can share with others, how and why not to do!

David, let me add something to what 'A Disciple' said. My wife left me on Thanksgiving Day, 1999. We were at the time very faithful members of a Bible believing church. I quit going to church and it was my ruin. I fell deep into sin and it was years before I came to myself like the Prodigal Son. So please, stay in church, stay in the Word. You won't ever regret serving God.

Josef; the first thing I've always thought about that verse is like when the Lord said, If your eye cause you to sin, pluck it out and cast it away from you; for its better to enter into life one-eyed, than to be cast into the Gehenna of fire. The Greek word translated, "burn" comes from the word meaning "to kindle" or "be ignited, glow" lit. be refined, or inflamed (with anger grief lust etc).

Is interesting how other Bible versions add to the word " burn" the words "with passion" seams like it totally change the meaning Other Bible translations don't add to the word burn other words . They are like the old King James Bible . So I would like to see comments on the vers 9 that ends with the original word " burn"

    To David
Things in life happen such as divorce just remember whatever you are going through God still loves you just as much as when you are with your wife. God still has a plan for you and will use you. We are not cast out because of a divorce or any other sin
But are granted God,s grace. I have been where you are peace be to you

Romans 15: 8 Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers: Now, I am a uncircumcised Gentile, therefore I follow Apostle Paul through Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord
