11:6 Therefore if a woman is not covered - If she will throw off the badge of subjection, let her appear with her hair cut like a man's. But if it be shameful far a woman to appear thus in public, especially in a religious assembly, let her, for the same reason, keep on her veil.

A woman's hair is her glory, we DO know why. 1Cor.11:15 "it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering." The hair should cover her head, which is about to the jawline for the head to be covered, bangs would not be involved. No where does it say it is a sin to cut a woman's hair. Scripture does not tell why it affects angels. V.10

Julius, Your answer for "uncovered" is verse 15.(And if a woman does not have hair that is long enough to cover her head she should cover it with something else, when she prays because of angels in verse 10) "Cover" a man should not have hair long enough to cover his head, it dishonors his head, verse 4.

Julius - v. 4 - this was the Corinthian church, which was fairly new at this time. They had come out of EXTREME idolatry, which included long uncut hair on men - which God (not man) considered a 'covering'. The rulers (Emperors, kings,) of that day wore their hair cut short. And the Roman soldiers followed suit. Example: museum busts of aforementioned. Now remember - this is God's standard. cont.
