Every big city has it's underground drug culture. We're no exception here in Jacksonville Florida. We have many good Godly professionals in all walks of life and in every sort of office here too. I've gotten to meet some of the best. When I was fifteen however ungodly and wicked peers seduced me. They got a lot of the attention from others. They seem untouchable, like something out of a good horror/sci-fi movie. I got invited to one of their birthday parties. I don't believe responsible adults were truly in on this. They drank and did drugs. I began skipping some classes to gain acceptance, to know them and to be known by them, and I was smoking and drinking after a few months. Then came the pot. I inhaled after getting around some of them that were regular smokers; I inhaled after maybe a handful of times faking it. My father is cool and never did pot, or a lot of other defiant/deviant things. I've only showed you myself in rags thus far. I loved the pig pin in those days.
I witnessed sometimes while going to reform school that disobedience hurt a bit. You can't be so good that you just never get caught. I was enjoying a pleasant life at times when bad influences were gone from the picture. I was alright with mot being on drugs for weeks. When they caught me a second time, they explained how I'd be expelled permanently from public school. Authority knew how to both be kind/considerate and how to offer guidance.A Christian worldview seemed to be lived out in their public life.Before too long christian leader that come on television hit the mark, I could not deny what they were saying. I accepted Jesus as savior. Honestly I believe this savior, Jesus. He does not lie when He say that He is savior for the world, and no other is. The lie is in the devil. Secular hard-rock, including, heavy metal and grunge too, will lead you down the wrong road. Look at us. We were the headbangers of the early '90's and none of us could live right. We all needed drugs and other temporary fixes (vices)to enlarge our arrogance. Hedonism was the game; what gave us pleasure was that which would enlarge the arrogant sinful nature. I have taken Jesus none other and I have a future. I'm working on my Bachelor's degree, majoring in criminal justice. I would never make a good professional without repentance and renewing of my mind from God's word. I am a church member.
