Testimony: Prophecy & Holy Spirit Fire Baptism

Richard's testimony "Prophecy & Holy Spirit Fire Baptism" on 10/23/2013, 8:09am...

Ever since I was young, I have had a gift of prophecy. It started when I was in the 5th grade, I would see things before they happened. It was like someone taking a bunch of photographs and flashing them through a sequence. I never had any control over these visions and never knew when or why they were happening. Another thing is that I have always been able to feel and sense spirits. I can quickly determine if the spirit is male, female, or indifferent. Somehow I always knew I was being watched over and I knew there was a significance but never could put two and two together. Knowing what I do now, I understand God works in God’s own time.
Right before Christmas 1998, my Uncle was in a major accident which left him with a brain injury so severe that the hospital told us to take him home, that he was so far gone that their was nothing that they could do for him and he should not have made it as far as he had. To stand there with my mother and basically be told that your uncle is going to die and watch a hospital do nothing about the situation was hurtful. The next few days at our house were extremely hard to bear. For 16 days my uncle shook about unable to talk, drink or eat. I was only 18 at the time and still was unable to really grasp how bad the situation was except for the pain I saw him living in. I felt helpless knowing there was nothing I could do to take his pain away or to make things better. On the 16th day, my uncle stopped me on his way to bed and told me to check on him in about twenty minutes and call an ambulance for his body for he knew he was not going to make it through the night. About an hour or two had past and I looked down the hallway because I heard a noise. I saw a sapphire blue light under the door. I figured he got up and turned the light on. Little did I know that God was doing his work on him! I went back to watching TV, afraid to go in and check on him to see if he was still alive. After another hour, the door to his room swung wide open and he stumbled out and fell into the wall on the other side of the hallway. I yelled, “Your Black and Blue and you have a white glow all around you!” I quickly grabbed the phone and dialed 9-1 and before I could press the other 1 he told me, “Put down the phone…I’m ok.” It was night and the hallway was dark and he had the magnificent glow. I was so scared of what happened that I ran out of the house and did not come back for 2 days.
For the next 10 years, my uncle walked through churches exposing the evil which stands behind most pulpits. He had been thrown out of churches and banned from several counties as well. The funny thing was, he never had to say a word. The power of the Holy Spirit is with him so strong that when he enters a church, if the preacher is doing wrong in some way, he will not be able to speak, or has problems within trying to conduct his sermon. I have seen pastors expose themselves in front of their congregation because the power made them. I was still having a hard time accepting what has happened to him and did not speak of it. I soon came to realize that I had to speak because I was the only witness to my uncle’s testimony. My uncle told me time and time again that one day God was going to smack me in the back of my head and get my attention.
May 24th 2008, My Wife and I headed to South Carolina to her brother’s daughter’s birthday party. On the way, we stopped by my Uncles house just to say hi. When I walked up to the door, my uncle stood there with a smile on his face almost near laughing at me. I asked him what was so funny and he told me, “You are about to get your smack in the back of the head today.” I did not think anything of it and just laughed. At the birthday party, everything was fine. We had played a lot of games outside with the kids and enjoyed ourselves. Little did I know, my uncle was right about what he told me. Upon leaving, I started to get a burning sensation on my feet that hurt like they were being burned. Once I took off my shoes and socks, I saw that my feet looked severely burned but did not understand how since I soaked them in lotion to prevent getting sunburned. The next day, 2 blisters, one on each foot appeared which appeared to be a resemblance of the nail marking of Christ’s feet. Concerned, I went to Dr. Mark Shaffer (Foot specialist) who treats all types of foot conditions from infections to diabetes because it was hindering me from working. He quickly asked for his assistant to go and get his camera and started taking photos of my feet. He told me that this was no sunburn and no type of skin disease that he had ever seen. He then asked for me to come back in in a few days to allow him to see if things would get worse or better since he was unsure of how to treat my condition. The next few days were painful. Not only did my feet swell up to twice their size, but I was unable to walk or stand on them for 3 days. The bible teaches us that a walk with Jesus will have obstacles. After about a week, I returned to Dr. Shaffer with my Uncle. Dr. Shaffer was worried that gangrene would set in and he may have to amputate my feet. Dr. Shaffer knew my uncle well and already knew of his testimony but did not realize that I was his nephew. After my uncle explained to him my part in his testimony, he stated, “I should have known”. He was still unable to diagnose my feet with a proper medical term but he did have a diagnosis. (Matthew 3:11, Luke 3:16). He told me that the marks on my feet came from the God through the power of the Holy Spirit. He came to this conclusion through the fact that my burns on my feet were not caused from the outside inward but from inside my body outwards. (Galatians 6:17) Ever since being marked by our Lord, my journey has leaded me in many different directions. Scripture comes to me that guide’s me in the right direction as I walk with the Lord.

I understand that we all fall short of the glory of God and we will continue to sin in the flesh. I have many struggles to overcome but except that walking with God does not come over night but it is a life journey. I thank the Lord each day for not giving up on me and continuing to allow me to grow. I can honestly say that in the end, even though I knew Jesus and God, they choose me. I am not certain yet of God’s will for me but everything he shows me, points to being a Prophet for the Lord. I have recently been asked of documenting everything that happens to me and others around me as well as asking of people’s testimonies and recording them. I have a long way to go in understanding my place in God’s hands but I am excited to see what unfolds.
