Linda Sabellico's testimony "Love Your Neighbor" on 8/25/2012, 9:50am...
I was at the lowest point in my life, at least this is what I thought my husband and I where divorcing. I was working at a Veteran's Clinic and I had this huge window where I could see down below as people entered or exited the building. I was a saved christian, but was not as outgoing. One day, something told me to look out the window and there was this homeless gentleman sitting on cement structures all alone. I never saw him ever when I was looking out the window before.
Well, he was there three more times everyday. Someone was talking to me and said, "This man has not eaten in days." I thought I was hearing voices. The next day I took my daughter to McDonald's and he was across the street. I decided I was going to feed this person. My daughter thought I was nuts, but it was something I needed to do. We went into the store purchased our breakfast and I bought him two sandwiches and hot coffee. I was not sure how he took his coffee, so I filled the bag with cream and sugar. I caught up with this gentleman on the sidewalk and when I said, Excuse me but I have seen out my window where I work and I would like to give you this meal." I told him to please not be offended. He looked at me and he had the most beautiful eyes I had ever seen and his reply was thank you and God Bless.
I went on to tell him that I was not sure how he took his coffee, but I filled the bag with condiments. He smiled and started to walk away and I had this most spiritual feeling come over me. I started walking back to my car and was going to ask him another question and he was gone.
I never saw this gentleman again and I kept on looking. I believe Christ works in mysterious ways and I think he was trying to tell me that some people have life a lot harder than me. What I learned is that it is never too late to help anyone and Christ is my salvation and that he will show you the way. I really believe I saw him that day. Thank you for the Bible verse that you give us and I never take anything for granted and I am a much happier and peaceful person. Amen !!
