As a child growing up, I always believed in God and His son and our Lord Jesus Christ. It wasn't until recently that I truly understood what my faith meant. I went through some dark times starting at age 15.
At that time, I had my first drink of alcohol. Within 4 years, I was drinking regularly and starting to use drugs. I thought I was having "fun" and there was no harm being done. However, I was quickly creating chaos and destruction all around me. I went down a road of sin, lies, drugs, sex, alcohol, and it only got worse and worse over the years. At the peak or I should say my lowest point in this destruction; I was arrested after a binge of IVing hard drugs. While in jail, I went to a Bible study and during this time in jail I started feeling the connection with God that I thought I had lost over the years.
During one of the Bible studies, it was just the Pastor, another man, and me. The pastor asked if I was ready to accept the Spirit of Jesus Christ and I said, "yes", believing with my whole heart. Over the next three years my connection with God and our Lord Jesus has grown immensely. God has revealed himself to me in so many divine ways. God pulled me out of the dark and into the light! My whole world and the way that I view the world/life has changed drastically in a great manner! I am now on a journey of becoming/being a true disciple of Jesus Christ to do God's will for my life. Jesus truly is the only way to the Father and eternal life. I pray that others out there will accept Jesus fully and truly in their hearts.
