Testimony: God Sent Us On A Jurney

Marlene's testimony "God Sent Us On A Jurney" on 10/27/2015, 9:00pm...

Some of my children, nieces, sister and I went to faith healing church one evening so I decided to just stay over night with the family. The next morning my sister and I were going to pick ups some donuts when the telephone rang. My niece answered and then handed the telephone to my sister. She began screaming, no, no and I did not want to hear anything bad; I wanted that warm glow I had to stay with me, so I went into the living room. Just as I laid across the couch a voice (God) said, "Go to Kansas." I knew this could not be God as He knew I had all these illnesses and could hardly leave my house (I had gotten better). A little while later one of my nieces came down the stairs and said to me, "God told me to tell you to..." and we both finished together...."Kansas". Much later she told me she had hear God tell her that she, my sister and I was to go to Kansas and told her mother. She said, "This cannot be God because Aunt Marlene will not go anywhere". She said she would go upstairs to pray alone and she heard the same thing; that is why, when she came down the steps she said, "God said for you to go to Kansas."

There was a lot of mixed feelings in me, I was scared but if God told me to go I was going to go. The arrangements were made in no time. I do not know how we got the money together for three round trip tickets but we did. As we left I started to pick up my purse (it had everything one would need to live, food, water, etc.) and God told me to not pick it up and that if I did this in trust He would have someone bring my purse, so I looked straight ahead, just followed my sister as He had told me to do, got in the car, would not look toward the back (of course the car was full of family) trying to prove my trust.

When we got to the airport (in my mind's eye I saw a black purse so I knew someone was going to give me a black purse but did this mean no one brought my purse. We were almost to the building I finally said, "Didn't anyone bring my purse?" and my faith wavered. My niece said she had and it was in the car; then another niece handed me a purse, it was the one I had seen in my mind's eye. She said she had planned on giving me this one (pulled out a different one) but I decided to give you that one. Good thing as that is the purse in my vision and if she had given me a different purse my faith may have melted.

One must realize it is not always easy to believe that it is God that is speaking to you and not yourself; but that voice sounds different, kind but authoritative. The three of us made it to the boarding area and I stepped to counter to get a Pepsi and my sister said, "We have to board now." We stepped on the airplane, the door closed, we were off; no turning back now. I read my Bible all the way trying to keep focused on God and not all those anxieties, etc. In my mind I could see gnats zooming at my head but could not actually touch it. I knew that the fears had been suspended (in the form on gnats) out of my head and they kept dive bombing me trying to get back in; but they could not. I need another page to finish this story; it is so wonderful
