He that abideth in this city shall die by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence: but he that goeth out, and falleth to the Chaldeans that besiege you, he shall live, and his life shall be unto him for a prey.
And now therefore thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning this city, whereof ye say, It shall be delivered into the hand ofthe king of Babylon by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence;
They come to fight with the Chaldeans, but it is to fill them with the dead bodies of men, whom I have slain in mine anger and in my fury, and for all whose wickedness I have hid my face from this city.
And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people ofthe prince that shall come shall destroy thecity and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end ofthe war desolations are determined.
I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into thecity.
