Malachi Chapter 2
2 If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart.
11 Judah hath dealt treacherously, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah hath profaned the holiness of the LORD which he loved, and hath married the daughter of a strange god.
13 And this have ye done again, covering the altar of the LORD with tears, with weeping, and with crying out, insomuch that he regardeth not the offering any more, or receiveth it with good will at your hand.
14 Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the LORD hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.
15 And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.
16 For the LORD, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.
17 Ye have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied him? When ye say, Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and he delighteth in them; or, Where is the God of judgment?

Matthew Henry's Malachi Chapter 2 Bible commentary...
The priests reproved for neglecting their covenant. (1-9) The people reproved for their evil practices. (10-17)1-9 What is here said of the covenant of priesthood, is true of the covenant of grace made with all believers, as spiritual priests. It is a covenant of life and peace; it assures all believers of all happiness, both in this world and in that to come. It is an honour to God's servants to be employed as his messengers. The priest's lips should not keep knowledge from his people, but keep it for them. The people are all concerned to know the will of the Lord. We must not only consult the written word, but desire instruction and advice from God's messengers, in the affairs of our souls. Ministers must exert themselves to the utmost for the conversion of sinners; and even among those called Israelites, there are many to be turned from iniquity. Those ministers, and those only, are likely to turn men from sin, who preach sound doctrine, and live holy lives according to the Scripture. Many departed from this way; thus they misled the people. Such as walk with God in peace and righteousness, and turn others from sin, honour God; he will honour them, while those who despise him shall be lightly esteemed.
10-17 Corrupt practices are the fruit of corrupt principles; and he who is false to his God, will not be true to his fellow mortals. In contempt of the marriage covenant, which God instituted, the Jews put away the wives they had of their own nation, probably to make room for strange wives. They made their lives bitter to them; yet, in the sight of others, they pretend to be tender of them. Consider she is thy wife; thy own; the nearest relation thou hast in the world. The wife is to be looked on, not as a servant, but as a companion to the husband. There is an oath of God between them, which is not to be trifled with. Man and wife should continue to their lives' end, in holy love and peace. Did not God make one, one Eve for one Adam? Yet God could have made another Eve. Wherefore did he make but one woman for one man? It was that the children might be made a seed to serve him. Husbands and wives must live in the fear of God, that their seed may be a godly seed. The God of Israel saith that he hateth putting away. Those who would be kept from sin, must take heed to their spirits, for there all sin begins. Men will find that their wrong conduct in their families springs from selfishness, which disregards the welfare and happiness of others, when opposed to their own passions and fancies. It is wearisome to God to hear people justify themselves in wicked practices. Those who think God can be a friend to sin, affront him, and deceive themselves. The scoffers said, Where is the God of judgement? but the day of the Lord will come.

I never expected Yahweh to threaten to spread dung on peoples faces like he does in verse 2. What am I going to say to my two year old now when he does that to his sister?
Rev. Autrey's Malachi Chapter 2 comment about verse 10 on 12/12/2013, 11:56am...
Verse 10: "Are we not all children of the same Father? Are we not all created by the same God?"
When we understand that the personality through whom God always speaks to us is Jesus, this verse becomes clear. Jesus is the Father spoken of here. We see this in Acts 8:4-5 where God answered Paul's question, "Who are you Lord," by saying "I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting."
We must remember that Paul was a devout Jew. And he never would have considered any other God except YHWH Father God. Yet, this God identified himself as Jesus the Son.
You will not understand or believe this if you do not ask God to help you. Ask him and he will!
As a note: God has two other personalities: The personality of "The Father" is the way God directs his affairs, but he never speaks to us this way. Jesus said of him, "You have never heard his voice or seen him face to face."
The perswonality of the Holy Spirit is the way God inspires us to believe in what he is doing. That is, he helps us to understand that Jesus is the way God speaks to, and that this is true from everlasting to everlasting.
May God bless you.

This Chapter versus 14-16 just taught me that God only wants a man to have one wife: Before reading this, I did not have back up to say whether or not God was concerned about a man having more than one wife, because of my observation of Solomon, but now I can clearly see that God wants a man to only have one Wife; that you produce Godly seed, and now I must say that; We must reading daily the entire Bible, and pray that God allows us to receive the correct understanding of his word; That we have clear knowledge of his will. Because God's word is so massive; that you can still miss some things after reading the entire Bible front to back 3 times in a row. SO THIS IS A DAILY LIFE BOOK

when you marry a strange woman, God is not in that marriage, take correction from Judah.
any marriage that God has joined together means no man will ever put asunder.

There is an inherent guilt when we are trying to do things that we know are wrong. How would you act if you were always worried about being exposed for things you feel guilty for? Would that shape you? The Bible says yes. It is the person who doesn’t try to cut corners at other people’s expense who can sleep well at night. The security of integrity is far greater than the anxieties that come with any wealth created by corrupt practices.

It is awful.

In a society where good has become "bad" and bad is "good", divorce and adultery have become a normal thing even among Christians. I pray that the God of peace speaks peace to all storm-raging families in Jesus' name.
