1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:

2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;

3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:

4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.

5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.

6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.

9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.

12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

13 The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.

14 But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them.

The Kingdom of Christ
Isaiah Chapter 11 : 5

15 And the LORD shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall he shake his hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make men go over dryshod.

16 And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.

Matthew Henry's Isaiah Chapter 11 Bible commentary...

The peaceful character of Christ's kingdom and subjects. (1-9) The conversion of the Gentiles and Jews. (10-16)1-9 The Messiah is called a Rod, and a Branch. The words signify a small, tender product; a shoot, such as is easily broken off. He comes forth out of the stem of Jesse; when the royal family was cut down and almost levelled with the ground, it would sprout again. The house of David was brought very low at the time of Christ's birth. The Messiah thus gave early notice that his kingdom was not of this world. But the Holy Spirit, in all his gifts and graces, shall rest and abide upon him; he shall have the fulness of the Godhead dwelling in him, #Col 1:19; 2:9|. Many consider that seven gifts of the Holy Spirit are here mentioned. And the doctrine of the influences of the Holy Spirit is here clearly taught. The Messiah would be just and righteous in all his government. His threatening shall be executed by the working of his Spirit according to his word. There shall be great peace and quiet under his government. The gospel changes the nature, and makes those who trampled on the meek of the earth, meek like them, and kind to them. But it shall be more fully shown in the latter days. Also Christ, the great Shepherd, shall take care of his flock, that the nature of troubles, and of death itself, shall be so changed, that they shall not do any real hurt. God's people shall be delivered, not only from evil, but from the fear of it. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? The better we know the God of love, the more shall we be changed into the same likeness, and the better disposed to all who have any likeness to him. This knowledge shall extend as the sea, so far shall it spread. And this blessed power there have been witnesses in every age of Christianity, though its most glorious time, here foretold, is not yet arrived. Meanwhile let us aim that our example and endeavours may help to promote the honour of Christ and his kingdom of peace.

10-16 When the gospel should be publicly preached, the Gentiles would seek Christ Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, and find rest of soul. When God's time is come for the deliverance of his people, mountains of opposition shall become plains before him. God can soon turn gloomy days into glorious ones. And while we expect the Lord to gather his ancient people, and bring them home to his church, also to bring in the fulness of the Gentiles, when all will be united in holy love, let us tread the highway of holiness he has made for his redeemed. Let us wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life, looking to him to prepare our way through death, that river which separates this world from the eternal world.

It is the most refreshing thought knowing that all animals will be with us in Heaven. The most loyal who love us unconditionally...

Rev. Autrey's Isaiah Chapter 11 comment about verse 1 on 6/25/2014, 12:40pm...

Isaiah 11 reads, '1 Out of the stump of David s family will grow a shoot yes, a new Branch bearing fruit from the old root. 2 And the Spirit of the Lord will rest on him the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord. 3 He will delight in obeying the Lord. He will not judge by appearance nor make a decision based on hearsay. 4 He will give justice to the poor and make fair decisions for the exploited. ... 10 In that day the heir to David s throne will be a banner of salvation to all the world. The nations will rally to him, and the land where he lives will be a glorious place. 11 In that day the Lord will reach out his hand a second time to bring back the remnant of his people. ... ' This is speaking of God as the Christ when he is born in Bethleham as Jesus. It tells how he will bring salvation to the world, and give peace and rest to his people. It specifically calls his the Lord in verse 11. And we know this is a reference to the Lord Jesus. All who believe in him are called s remnant, meaning that God 's church will be a small group. The people, then, who called Jesus the Son of David were not operating in ignorance. They knew these Scriptures and applied them to Jesus. In other words, the Holy Spirit had prepared them to know God as Jesus when he came to them. So when the Gentile woman from Syria said to Jesus, 'Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David, ' she was calling him both God and the expected Savior that was to come. Today, we read over these words and never understand what the woman was saying. We have lost track of Jesus as God. But he is! And it is my job to tell as many people as I can this wonderful truth.! May God bless you!

ETHEL WARE COMMENTS ON ISAIAH 11 is prophecies, is messages from God, of the past, present, and the future, and JESUS came to fulfill, the past and close its chapter, and open the new,so this freewill that JESUS PROVIDED by His death gives me the right to sing and dance like David . that one day I will be able to lay down with the wolves and not be harmed.

Rev. Autrey's Isaiah Chapter 11 comment about verse 2 on 6/11/2014, 12:52pm...

Isaiah 11, verse 2 reads, AND THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD SHALL REST UPON HIM, THE SPIRIT OF WISDOM, UNDERSTANDING, CPUNCIL AND MIGHT THE SPIRIT OF KNOWLEDGE AND OF FEAR OF THE LORD. This verse is speaking of Jesus as a human, and how the Holy Spirit worked in him. Notice that it says that God 's Spirit gave him wisdom, understanding, counsel, and knowledge about who he was. The might part is a reference to the mighty works Jesus understood he was to do. The point is, this is saying that the job of the Holy Spirit is to teach us and make us intelligent about the things of Jesus as God. This agrees completely with what Jesus said about God 's Spirit in John 16, verse 26 HE WILL TELL YOU ABOUT ME. Let me say this plainly. The work of the Holy Spirit is to tell us about Jesus as God, and the salvation he brings us. That 's it! Te Holy Spirit, then, does not make us act empty headed and nonsensical, as many people think. Nor does he make us run around, across the front of the church, not knowing where we are going. Nor does he make us fall down and pass out for a long period of time. Jesus operated under the Spirit, and he did none of this! This type of action will teach us nothing about Jesus, or ourselves! All it will make us do is to be irrational about the very salvation Jesus came to give us. Please think about this!

Sqorpyo's Isaiah Chapter 11 comment on 5/05/2014, 11:27pm...

I asked Our Father for an explanation. He told me to read again. Here follows His wisdom to me. FOR I HAVE SAID THAT NO WEAPON FORMED SHALL NOT OBTAIN ITS GOAL. Good told me that these are the mark of the righteous. He said to me that the first 6 verses of Isaiah 11 explains how the righteous acts verses 7 through 9 tells an outward sign. And remember we are all a child of the Lord. Verses 10 through 16 describes the action of the righteous.

Gale Taylor's Isaiah Chapter 11 comment about verse 6 on 2/06/2014, 8:32am...

This is proove that God's creature's are in heaven with us. That he loves them even more than we do. THERE are many other verses to support this idea. That they are tane enough thst a child will lead them . Who is God's child?. JESUS . Face it he put more animals on the Ark than people. God states he knows when one sparrow falls. Look it up

Sure God will restore creation to his purpose and intent. the wolf dwelling with the lamb, and the leopard with the kid, means that, there will be no destruction, there will be harmonious living and relationships with all the creations of God Almighty. Assuredly it shall become.
