Wesley's Notes for Titus 1:1

1:1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ - Titles suitable to the person of Paul, and the office he was assigning to Titus. According to the faith - The propagating of which is the proper business of an apostle. A servant of God - According to the faith of the elect. An apostle of Jesus Christ - According to the knowledge of the truth. We serve God according to the measure of our faith: we fulfil our public office according to the measure of our knowledge. The truth that is after godliness - Which in every point runs parallel with and supports the vital, spiritual worship of God; and, indeed, has no other end or scope. These two verses contain the sum of Christianity, which Titus was always to have in his eye. Of the elect of God - Of all real Christians

Awesome comments given by those who follow the calling of our Lord Jesus Christ. It 's the true gospel that matters to us. The Truth of the gospel. The Word of the Lord Jesus is Life, and those who know him are Blessed. We are not blessed because we have material things, but because we know him. We speak the truth of the gospel, and know that God the Father has called us in Christ Jesus. This is Grace. And all Glory and Honor belongs to Him. Thank You Heavenly Father that you have entrusted the gospel to us, the preach the truth with Love, gentleness, and mercy. You have chosen us Father in your Son Jesus because it was the good pleasure of your will. Grace and Truth came by Jesus Christ. We are now followers of Jesus because you have called us Father to be joined heirs with You, in Christ Jesus according to your word. Your Holy Spirit you sent forward into our hearts Jesus to seal us with you, by the cross Jesus brought us near to you, and by His Blood he reconciled us to You. Thank You Father for everything you have done for us all.

Yes, just as the word of God says: some who profess to walk with God but have nothing in them to show neither their deeds exhibit Christlike nature. That 's the reason why God said so in the scriptures that it is not everyone who says 'Lord, Lord ' will enter into the Kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. The word of God goes on to say that on that day, many will say to the Lord, 'Lord, Lord, 'did we not prophesy in your name, cast out demons in your name, and do mighty works in your name? And then will I say unto you, I know you not depart from me, ye workers of iniquity. Stay with the word and neither add nor subtract anything from the word. Leave a life worthy of the Gospel.

We must be careful that we follow the teaching on Jesus when appointing men as leader in the church. They must be men of God. They must be good stewards of the gospel and not teachers of themselves.

Hello Enapejeremiah The Bible tells us to 2 Timothy 2 15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. There are colleges and universities that are set up for Theology teaching that awards academic achievements in this field of study. In the end, it is the Holy Ghost, the true Holy Ghost with the speaking in other tongues as the spirit of God gives that truly does the teaching and opens up a person s understanding. Whether that instruction comes from within or from a Holy Ghost filled teacher the instruction is still from the Holy Ghost, John 14 26.

Hello Enapejeremiah I do not believe that I stated that they should have academic qualifications. I did state both parties should have faith. I would like to add that all parties should be people of faith. They should be guided by the Holy Ghost. The jobs of the offices in Ephesians are the following Ephesians 4 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ . Now there is nothing wrong with education, but make sure that you are getting the right education. In the end, everyone should be striving to get save and stay saved according to Acts 2 38.
