Wesley's Notes for Romans 5:5

5:5 Hope shameth us not - That is, gives us the highest glorying. We glory in this our hope, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts - The divine conviction of God's love to us, and that love to God which is both the earnest and the beginning of heaven. By the Holy Ghost - The efficient cause of all these present blessings, and the earnest of those to come.

People's Bible Notes for Romans 5:5

Ro 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed. A hope disappointed would fill with shame, but that we will not be put to shame is shown by the fact that the love of God is shed abroad, diffused in our hearts, by means of his Spirit given us. This may mean that our hearts are filled with the love of God; or it may mean that our hearts are conscious of the love of God. What follows seems to point to the second meaning.

Thanks to the blood ofJesus by his blood we are sanctified., we are saved by his grace. Jesus made everything new he paid the price on the cross our job now is to accept and believe Jesus that he is a son of a living God. Only thru him and by his blood only we have life in abundance. Lets praise him only for he is worthy. Our tribulations in life could come but only praising Jesus we have peace

Brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, who are His church: See here in verses 1 through 11 that while the members of the church of Christ will suffer tribulations, the body of Christ will NOT be appointed to the wrath of Great tribulation of hell when all flesh will die of famine, war, pestilence and captivity. Let no man carrying that spirit of antichrist deceive you with their vain words: JESUS CHRIST is the SAVIOUR, that is true! His sacrifice and His blood is sufficient atonement for all our sins so there is no cause for the faithful to be "delivered up"! Be blessed and rejoice in the saving grace of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen

Vs.13 is an interesting fact. It shows that sin was always there, but unless there was a law , that it could not be charged against us. So for Adam and Eve, they had but one law, and broke that law resulting in sin. They could have been doing other sins, but until there was a law against it they could not be charged. I.e. it was only after they ate the fruit that they became ashamed of their nakedness Very interesting scripture.
