Wesley's Notes for Romans 5:5

5:5 Hope shameth us not - That is, gives us the highest glorying. We glory in this our hope, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts - The divine conviction of God's love to us, and that love to God which is both the earnest and the beginning of heaven. By the Holy Ghost - The efficient cause of all these present blessings, and the earnest of those to come.

People's Bible Notes for Romans 5:5

Ro 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed. A hope disappointed would fill with shame, but that we will not be put to shame is shown by the fact that the love of God is shed abroad, diffused in our hearts, by means of his Spirit given us. This may mean that our hearts are filled with the love of God; or it may mean that our hearts are conscious of the love of God. What follows seems to point to the second meaning.

: I make righteous, defend the cause of, plead for the righteousness (innocence) of, acquit, justify; hence: I regard as righteous. Definition of being Justified. To really grasp an understanding on how we are declared legally innocent in the eyes of God we need to study how Abraham was justified. Go back to Romans 4. The best way to read the Bible is to put everything together in context.

To Sylvia - I'm not going to be your 'teacher'; here's a scripture to get you started (if you are serious, you need to pray for His understanding) - Hosea 4:6; Rom. 14-15; Heb. 10:25. You need to read Hosea 4:1-9, very carefully, to catch what is there. It applies very much to this day. Also, ask the Lord, in Jesus name, to lead you to a church that preaches HIS WHOLE truth f the Bible.

Thanks to the blood ofJesus by his blood we are sanctified., we are saved by his grace. Jesus made everything new he paid the price on the cross our job now is to accept and believe Jesus that he is a son of a living God. Only thru him and by his blood only we have life in abundance. Lets praise him only for he is worthy. Our tribulations in life could come but only praising Jesus we have peace
