CHAP. CXII.
1 Godlinesse hath the promises of this life, 4 And of the life to come. 10 The prosperitie of the godly, shalbe an eye-sore to the wicked
1 Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his Commaundements.1
2 His seed shall bee mightie vpon earth: the generation of the vpright shalbe blessed.
3 Wealth and riches shalbe in his house: and his righteousnesse endureth for euer.
5 A good man sheweth fauour and lendeth: he will guide his affaires with discretion.5
6 Surely he shall not be moued for euer: the righteous shalbe in euerlasting remembrance.
7 He shall not be afraid of euill tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.
8 His heart is established, hee shall not be afraid, vntill he see his desire vpon his enemies.
9 He hath dispersed, he hath giuen to the poore: his righteousnesse endureth for euer; his horne shalbe exalted with honour.9

112:2 Generation - The posterity.
112:3 Righteousness - The fruit or reward of his righteousness, which is God's blessing upon his estate.
112:4 Darkness - In the troubles and calamities of life. He - The upright man.
112:5 Lendeth - Gives freely to some, and lends to others according to the variety of their conditions. Affairs - His domestick affairs. Discretion - Not getting his estate unjustly, nor casting it away prodigally, nor yet withholding it from such as need it.
112:6 Moved - Though he may for a season be afflicted, yet he shall not be eternally destroyed.
112:7 Evil tidings - At the report of approaching calamities.
112:9 Dispersed - His goods, freely and liberally. Righteousness - His liberality, or the reward of it. Ever - What he gives is not lost, but indeed is the only part of his estate, which will abide with him to all eternity.
112:10 The desire - Either of the misery of good men; or of his own constant prosperity.
