Augustus's comment on 5/30/2014, 3:59pm...

The world of God is always active. If we apply to our lives,we will gain wisdom.

Obadiah's comment on 5/30/2014, 11:57am...

Though small and despised, Israel shall remain high amongst all nations, so the book of Obadiah might seem small bt it holds alot in form of prophesy,,,,

Mark's comment on 5/08/2014, 2:24pm...

I 'm a little amazed that none of you Bible geniuses have said anything about AMERICA. And it 's judgement. "2 Behold, I have made thee small among the heathen thou art greatly despised. 3 The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground? 4 Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the LORD. "

Sean's comment on 2/28/2014, 1:25am...

Esau is still alive today and his judgement is pending That includes all of his descendants

Etido S Udeme's comment about verse 17 on 12/31/2013, 3:01am...

As a Chosen and a royal priesthood, if you weigh balance yourself on God's word daily then your Deliverance is ensured.

Bill Hanson's comment about verse 21 on 12/30/2013, 7:57pm...

I have yet to see a good in-depth commentary on the book of Obadiah, not even a You Tube video. What I have seen explains it as a book of history rather than futuristic prophecy.

Since Chapter 1 predicts these events to take place just prior to the "Day of The Lord" (Tribulation), it is obvious to me that it's futuristic. I am also of the belief that it's akin and detailed version to Psalm 83.

Festus Sheneni's comment about verse 17 on 11/28/2013, 1:18pm...

If you can get to Mount Zion, your deliverance is sure. Mount Zion is therefore a house of testimony, it is a warehouse of testimony.

Inemesit umoren's comment about verse 17 on 10/15/2013, 2:13am...

deliverance is given to God's children at his present

Big Skils's comment about verse 17 on 6/21/2013, 3:24am...

Godfrey Zekpa's comment on 12/04/2012, 2:51am...

Are our hurts like Edom? Are we right in criticizing our religious orders? Is not judgment for God? The archangel Micheal could had complained a lot about Satan but he otherwise said "God rebukes you” Jude 1. We must be careful to murmur or rise up against God's chosen. Amen.

Annette Blackburn's comment on 7/07/2012, 2:22am...

wow I didn't know that Edom represented the flesh and Israel the spirit but it makes sense of course. I can comment on this, because I am marveling at something that i think God showed me just a couple or a few years ago:

I'm not very articulate so please bare with me:

God will always confirm a thing that He has done or rather he will always establish at least two witness One day I was doing some actuall and purposeful studying on the Edomites decendants of Esau.(These were the same Edomites as When Moses and the Isrealites were passing through the wilderness on their way to Cannan they had to past through the land of the Edomites but he king of the Edomites would not let them pass through it causing the Children of Isreal and Moses to go totally out of their way when Canaan was just on the other side of the Edomites. But the OT says that they would not let them pass because of the grudge between the two decendants of Jacob and Esau. And this out of the way venture even caused the children of Isreal to rebell and murmer and complain even more). Afterwards as I began reading about the Last Super of the Lamb and thought I saw something as clear as day that the Old Testament had provided a clue in pertaining to one of the Mysteries in the book of Revelation which happened to be the Lambs supper or the Marriage supper of the Lamb. It was actually in at least two places in the OT and I think one was the book of Daniel and perhaps Obidiah

It appears to be a joyous occasion as those who are in Christ wether great or small dead or a live at that time will be called up and invited to the Lambs supper. But is it really a feast as we know it though. ( I truely believe that i saw this) : We know that this will be the great and terrible day. Great for those who are invited to the Lamb's supper and terrible for those who are not. And we know that they will be a great desctruction going on those who will be actually in the chaos will be crying and screaming and trying to hide or wanting death to happen quickly. So heres what I thought I saw tht the last supper will not be us eating a the feast but it will be the fouls of the air that will be called down to eat and feast on the dead bodies that are laying in the street. Now this is what I thought I saw and what I thought the Lord had lead me to.

Now the book of Obidiah mentions that the decendants of Esau that they were all destroyed but there are some who believe that they were not all destroyed and that the Arabs are their decent. I believe otherwise but that is another subject who I think the decendants of the Edomites are. I think I remember reading that some even fought against the Isrealites when Isreal turned against itself and split North and south or Judah against Isreal

Remember God said "Jacob I have loved and Esau I have hated, the book Obadiah ( I just learned one of the shortest book in the OT and one of the 12 minor prohets) prophesid the desctruction of Edom.( And also the book of daniel or Jerimiah maybe it was one of these books I believe that describes hwo the fouls of the air feasted on the flesh of the Destroyed city of Edom ) or how God destroyed the Edomites the decendants of Esau ( I think there punishment was for when they refuse to let the children of Isreal pass through their land).. Also remember Esau was red and hairy and sold his birth right for a bowl of red soup or pottage well the word Edom means red in Hebrew and they even dwelled in caves of red dirt. The word Adam and Edom are suppose to be the same. The Word Adam pronoucced A dom also means Red which is suppose to describe the blood of Jesus and because God made him from dirt or (clay) of the ground..

But yes The book of Revelation also repeats itself if memory serves me right i think about every three sequences or something like that , One day I realized that it gave a description of the angels and what they would be doing then I went on to read and realize I was reading the same thing just a different description. I even use to wonder was all that stuff going to happen that one day until I realize that it was repeating itself just giving different descriptions or names to the same thing. For example in one place It uses the word "wormwood" in another place I believe it says " armogedon". Pls dont quote me on that example I would have to look it up again.

Andrew's comment on 4/04/2012, 1:33pm...

Obadiah is a servant given the insight of things to come. He was telling what was written in his heart of that which God gave him. A Warning and judgement to be carried out. Touch not My anointed, said the Lord. Jacob is one of the fathers whom was deceived and treated like a stranger among his own. The mount of Esau and the people shall be slaughtered. Still God had mercy to the innocent.

Julianna Winsor's comment on 2/01/2012, 8:17am...

Saviours shall arise upon the mount of Esau, and the kingdom shall be the Lord's. We pray, "God, may Your kingdom come," and therewith rise to heroic deeds.
We should pray, "Lord God our Father, may Thy kingdom soon come"--[and take authority, extend its rule through being lovingly accepted in individual hearts]. And we should be heroic, especially in the cause of those whose hearts are loyally His.

Leslie Miller's comment on 1/22/2012, 11:47pm...

Edom is not Russia, it is the United States. Obadiah 1:4 Though you soar like the eagle and make your nest among the stars, from there I will bring you down," declares the LORD. The Astronauts quote, "The Eagle has landed"' refers to this chapter. 9/11 is the bringing down to ground zero. Just like Israel is a remnant from the nations, the United states is a remnant from the nations. (BARRING YOUR NOT A HOLOCAUST DENIER). The native Americans were given 30 dollars ransom for George as sent to the trail of tears. when all is fulfilled the Indian Nation and Israel will finally be accepted as nations in the UN...And Palestine will understand what David meant after they saved his life, when he told them, "Surely you have a place in Israel." The key word is IN...not a separate state from Israel.

Zbee1's comment on 1/04/2012, 6:31pm...

Edom is Iran, not Russia.

Itsme Thistime's comment on 12/03/2011, 3:56pm...

Esau or Edom refers to Russia (the name Russia comes from the term "chief prince", Esau being the first-born of Isaac) Edom meaning "red" or "of blood" and Jacob "heel grabber" refers to the 12 tribes of Isreal. The 10 northern tribes were taken captive by the assyrian over the caucasus mountains and later settled Europe and the Americas (this is why were are called caucasians) The final battle between these "brothers" will occur at the battle of hamongog (meaning "burial ground of Gog, Gog being another name for Russia) wherein God does the fighting by sending 180lb hail stones to destroy the army of Gog, or Russia, as they attempt to attack Israel, or America.

Jeremiah's comment on 11/06/2011, 5:13am...

Jacob represents the Spririt, and Esau the flesh. The promise was only to Jacob, but Esau had no right to obtain or partake of the inheiritance or the things of God because he was cut off. This chapter is a good example of the conflict of the flesh and Spirit, and helps us to know that the flesh will be abased.
