And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, thy days approach that thou must die: call Joshua, and present yourselves in thetabernacle of the congregation, that I may give him a charge. And Moses and Joshua went, and presented themselves in thetabernacle of the congregation.
This is the sum of thetabernacle, even of thetabernacle of testimony, as it was counted, according to the commandment of Moses, forthe service of the Levites, by the hand of Ithamar, son to Aaron the priest.
And Moses took thetabernacle, and pitched it without the camp, afar off from the camp, and called it theTabernacle of the congregation. And it came to pass, that every one which sought the LORD went out unto thetabernacle of the congregation, which was without the camp.
These were they that were numbered of the families of the Kohathites, all that might do service in thetabernacle of the congregation, which Moses and Aaron did number according to the commandment of the LORD by the hand of Moses.
But those that encamp before thetabernacle toward the east, even before thetabernacle of the congregation eastward, shall beMoses, and Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the children of Israel; and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.
Even of the children of Israel's half, Moses took one portion of fifty, both of man and of beast, and gave them unto the Levites, which kept the charge of thetabernacle of the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses.
And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.
Now thebuilding that was before the separate place at the end toward the west was seventy cubits broad; and the wall of thebuildingwas five cubits thick round about, and the length thereof ninety cubits.
And on the day that thetabernacle was reared up the cloud covered thetabernacle, namely, the tent of the testimony: and at even there was upon thetabernacle as it were the appearance of fire, until the morning.
And the LORD spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in thetabernacle of the congregation, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying,
These are they that were numbered of the families of the sons of Gershon, of all that might do service in thetabernacle of the congregation, whom Moses and Aaron did number according to the commandment of the LORD.
