We are talking for our souls,an spiritual food to our souls.not a physical food.and always remember the food that is considered to be eaten.don't lost your souls for only a food.clean and unclean creatures from LEVITICUS chapter 11 and DEUTORONOMY chapter 17,

Lyn's comment about verse 4 on 12/28/2013, 7:02am...

Some people says, how they live if they don't eat all creatures in this world like pig, they also said that they must take care of their health because their body is where God is living, and if they don't eat, they will become sick or whatever.but it is written that man shall not live by bread alone, but on every word that comes out from mouth of God.well...in my understanding, the most important here is our soul not our health or body.so we should watch the food we are eating if it is forbidden or unforbidden.

Jacqueline Classen's comment on 12/24/2013, 4:31pm...

Jesus was tempted by ,the devil, but HE conquered with the WORD. That"s what Jesus taught us here. Not by miGht nor by power but by the Spirit of God. And who is the Spirit but the Word of God. God is Spirit and God is Life. There os Power in the Name of Jesus because Jesus is the Word that became flesh and made His dwelling amongst us. So when we speak His Word we proclaim and declare Jesus and God to the world. His Word is a lamp to o.ur feet and a light to our path. We are nothing without God's Word.. That"s why it is our daily bread. Praise God Almighty! He is my life, love, trust hope and my everything.

We must remember that we need more than physical food. In order to be successful we need to pay attention to all the words that come from God. We can do this by regularly reading His word the Bible and applying what learn.

Marj's comment about verse 16 on 10/31/2013, 8:52am...

First they were in spiritual darkness, then a great light sprung up. I know a similar thing happened to me in a dream, a very evil darkness was closing in on me and I knew it would kill me (this was many years ago) not knowing where I knew to do this I suddenly yelled "JESUS" immediately a light burst for from me and obliterated totally all of the darkness surrounding me. The name of Jesus had saved my life, and though I said it, I know even that was by God's Grace because it wasn't something I would think of nor did I have time to think.

So, I was voraciously wanting more of Jesus after that, and I think this particular verse it telling us how their hearts were prepared to do such unusual things when you consider this from a human perspective. Why else would the disciples drop their whole lives to follow Jesus. There may have been other supernatural dreams, visions, but that verse I believe is the key, although being fully God and fully Human, would be something to behold I am sure everyone with an open heart to God would feel drawn irresistibly towards Him.

Kelvin's comment on 10/25/2013, 1:08am...

We should take Jesus as our example of OBEDIENCE to God , he did not follow what devil was telling him because he held word in his heart(psalm 119: 11)

ANNMARIE STULTZ's comment about verse 5 on 10/14/2013, 12:35am...

was the Holy City consider to be that satan was offering Christ the (CHURCH)?

BRITTANY HANCOCK's comment on 9/26/2013, 12:29pm...

I agree with all the comments.. We do have to be careful because satan is everywhere. He will try to run in your life at your weakest moments but we must pray an be strong. We cant give him an inch of power to control us because we are all God's children. He thought he was going to get Jesus but Jesus showed him that he is the son of the truth, light, and holy spirit. We should all be like Jesus tell that devil depart from thence I am an child of God no weapon shall form against me.

Osbon yesaya's comment on 9/16/2013, 12:12am...

Satan is a liar. we christian should not fear him as we are children of God. we are not allowed to be tempted. Jesus is our way.

Alijent banda's comment on 9/15/2013, 10:39pm...

I have learnt from this chapter.
Satan know everything. The goodness of worshiping God.
Satan know that in the word of God,there is life. This is why he tried to convince Jesus to step down from this belief in verse4.

Satan knows that in worshiping there is a grate reward. This is why we see him commanding Jesus to worship him in exchange of the world in verse9.

In verse6,Satan manifest him self that He knows how caring God is to us. He knows that He will not allow us to slip down,He will not watch us being tortured and any harm to us. As it is written that He will "command" the angels to come for our aid.

Do not be mislead by him,as he comes like the promised prophet and give a biblical prophecy. He knows that in Lord Jesus we have everything.

Let us focus on Jesus a lone.

Sarah's comment on 9/09/2013, 3:03pm...

Christ was tempted as the Son of God...it would not have helped us at all if He came as God

Dora's comment on 9/07/2013, 4:52pm...

In this life we really need to be careful as to who is quoting the word of God into our lives and under what circumstances . Matt: 4:6, satan took a bold step in what he taught was Jesus' weakest hour to quote the word. But what he did not realized is that Jesus is THE WORD. Acct.to John1: Then also His strength is made perfect in my weakness.

Bessie Collins's comment about verse 1 on 8/26/2013, 6:09pm...

God had just affirmed his love for Jesus in Math. 3:13-17. after John baptized Jesus. God said, "this is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased. Jesus knew full well his identity and purpose. He wasn't about to allow Satin to abort his mission/purpose. Since he was lead into the wilderness by the Spirit Jesus knew that God had him cover from head to toe.

Jesus/yes/ is a healer.Truely he came to all that is sick.we need to trust in him.

Rev. Autrey's comment about verse 10 on 8/03/2013, 9:08am...

When Jesus said, "You must worship the Lord your God," He was speaking as a man, something He often did. We must remember He was a man, in addition to being God. That's why He is called the God/man by those who study the Bible.

It was the God hating Jews who did not want Him to be God. They should have read the writing of Isaiah in Isaiah 40:3: "Listen! I hear the voice of someone shouting, "Make a highway for the LORD through the wilderness. Make a straight smooth road through the desert for our God." Earlier he said in Isaiah 9:6: "For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. ... These will be his royal titles: ... the Mighty God, Everlasting Father. ..."

The additude of the Jews is with us today, very strong in our churches. It is called Arianism, after Dr. Arius of Egypt of the 3rd century. It ***erts that Jesus is a lesser figure to God, and does not deserve to be worshiped. The trouble with this concept is, it is not according to the Bible: "... and the Word (Jesus) was God" (John 1:1).

This means that Jesus was talking about Himself in the Lord's prayer when He said we should pray this way: "Our Father in heaven. ..." This was easy for the people to do because they were accomstmed to doing it anyway. They knew Jesus as YHWH God and Father in the Old Testament. Now he was on earth fulfilling the promises He made to Abraham, their ancestor.

That's why Jesus said, "Come unto me. ..."

The Father Jesus told us about is God's other personality, the way God directs us. The Holy Spirit is the way God inspires us. But Jesus is the way God speaks to us and saves us.

Let's pray to Jesus.

Mawuli's comment about verse 4 on 7/19/2013, 6:50am...

the word of God is power that has the ability to manifest itself in so many dimensions including what ever man desire of in this world because john 1:1 everything was by him n through him including the food being spoken here.

Tseko's comment on 6/25/2013, 7:38am...

I love you Jesus Christ.I belive in my heart that you the saviour and the Son of our heavenly Father GOD.Teach me your ways because you know mine.

Hanireck's comment on 6/21/2013, 6:13am...

When we start the journey of following Jesus we have to know that we have entered into the battle field with the devil and temptations are part and parcel of this journey so if you haven't yet facing trials know that you haven't started your journey.

One's comment on 5/28/2013, 12:47pm...

The Begining of this comment is to: the person on this comment list, who's named himslef "PEACE".............. Peace, you wrote that you are a sinner, then asked the question; How can i be delivered:

Well here goes: The Bible Says in Romans 10:9, That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

And in 1John 1:9,says "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness". and to that i say this: if you want a relationship with God; you can't look at him as just your father or overseer, But you must see him as your best friend, and best friends; And i mean real best friends; tell each other everything!

You, telling God everything that you know you've done wrong, says to him, that you are his friend, and that you desire to be in a relationship with him, and believe it or not; Nobody in this world is closer to you, them him; No one Loves you more than him. So thus if you reveal all to him, and REPENT! of them, then you are delivered from your sin, but remember this: It is not about sin; But it is about relationship; For Man & Women on this Earth is a sinner; There are many versuses in the Bible that declare that; and one versus in particular says: For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief; And the reason the Bible calls the man just; is because, even though this man commited sin; He did not give up on confessing his sin to God, and repenting of it, and then he got back to trying to live a righteous life; Praying often, studying the Bible, trying to help those in need; he just simply went back to doing God's will: So when you have a relationship with God sin does not break that; But your reaction to the sin can: whither you confess them and repent, or hide them and do not repent; This is what keeps you from your deliverance, not sin by itself.

After that we read and study the Bible, so that we can find out what God wants, and then we start doing what he wants; The same as we do with are boyfriends and girlfriends, Wifes and Husbands: We pay attention to them or even ask them what they want, because we want to make them happy.

IS ALL ABOUT REAL RELATIONSHIP, and everything else will follow.

Igene Orhen's comment on 5/16/2013, 2:52am...

...nobody is exempted for temptations it is how firm you are to where you stand or what do you believe. Since I am redeemed by the blood of the lamb holy spirit's voice pat my mind to hear its voice and yield not.

Martha Prince's comment on 4/23/2013, 5:43am...

@Peace,
There are many scriptures that speak of the Grace of God, but a couple of my favourites ones are:
- John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”.
- Isaiah 53:4-5; 4 “Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.” 5 “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
- Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Abraham's comment about verse 5 on 4/21/2013, 12:11pm...

The temptation by evil is not a plan of God but a plan of Evil. So it could be an attempt to physically eliminate or weaken Jesus, especially when Jesus was physically weak after 40 days of fasting, so that the plan of God Almighty about Jesus is nip in the bud itself. Knowing the plan of evil, Jesus willingly (bodily) climbed to the pinnacle of temple when asked by evil so as to win over evil.
