People's Bible Notes for Matthew 5:19

Mt 5:19 Shall break one of the least of these least commandments. The Pharisees taught that some commands were more important than others, and that it was a trivial matter to break the smallest commands. The papists still divide sin into "mortal" and "venial". Christ shows that the spirit of obedience does not seek to make such distinction. Shall be called the least. He may get into the kingdom, possibly, but such a spirit will give him a very low spiritual rank.

Yes Bill, He also experienced every human emotion, every human thought and every sin that satan cast at him; He was truly and properly God and truly and properly man, just like one of us. God knows exactly how we think and feel because Jesus became a man for us. Jesus is sinless and experienced what we experience every day. We need to give that some serious thought, Jesus was a man for us.

Jesus was persecuted , He was reviled ,and all manner was spoken against Him falsely : The religious leaders did it in thinking they were upholding God in their accusations toward Jesus : Jesus was walking in God's will : and so for us who walk in God's will : religious people will do the same toward us . We are a Blessed people : even though we get knocked down for it.

I must say I thank god for the affliction that may come my way. My afflictions makes my walk with the Lord much stronger. The lord never said this walk would be easy. If they persecuted Jesus what makes us any different?
