People's Bible Notes for Matthew 24:22

Mt 24:22 There should no flesh be saved. If such awful work should continue, it would exterminate the human race. For the elect's sake. On their account, because there is salt to save the earth, and end shall be put to the awful work of death. The "elect" are the believers in Christ (Ro 11:5-7).

Dominic you are on the right track: accept Jesus Christ as your-personal savior then prey/ask God for wisdom to understand this chapter, continue studying the bible, HE will answer your prayer. This chapter contain huge amount of very-important information for all the human race / saved or not-save. Not enough space on this site.

Matthew 24 is not isolated from the preceding chapter, nor separated from the chapter following. The discourse begins in Chapter 23:13 dealing with how the Israel of God had again perverted their ways and Jesus was pronouncing judgement against the religious rulers of that generation. "your house is left unto you desolate" "This generation shall not pass," more to do with 70ad and Titus than now.

The Gospel of God cometh only from God, our Father which art in heaven. Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: Father, the hour is come glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. The mercy of man is toward his neighbour but the mercy of the Lord is upon all flesh: he reproveth, and nurtureth, and teacheth and bringeth again, as a shepherd his flock. Let the LORD, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation, And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. For God made not death: neither hath he pleasure in the destruction of the living. For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye. For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
