People's Bible Notes for Matthew 18:25

Mt 18:25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay. He had used his king's money and was not able to settle his accounts. He represents the sinner, who has no way to settle the debt of his sins. See Lu 7:42. His lord commanded him to be sold. An absolute king is represented, who could do according to his will with his servants. It was common, even until modern times, for persons to be sold for debt. In many nations the wife and children were involved in the hapless fate of the debtor.

The last part of this chapter tells us that if we want to receive God's forgiveness then we must forgive others.

It seems as if we will be judged based on how we treat/ forgive others -how we treated the son of man-how we treated the holy spirit.

Praise the LORD! Last night I just read the story of the two disciples who were to Emmaus, and Jesus joined them, told them the things they concerned and gave them joy. Luke 24:13-33 As for a family,a 3-member one is enough to fulfill the promise! How wonderful the blessing is!
