People's Bible Notes for Matthew 16:26

Mt 16:26 What is a man profited? etc. All the wealth, glory, pleasure and power of earth are worthless to the dying man. If he should gain them all and lose his own soul, he has lost all. What shall a man give in exchange for his soul? What would a man not give? What is there that he can give, if in life he has not followed Christ?

Sylvia From The Philippines's comment on 2014-08-21 23:02:43:

Our elder once shared to me about this verse in Matthew 16. wht stuck in my mind is the story of one of the riches and famous man on earth. he succumb to a lingering illness his money was not able to help cure him. on his dying bed, he requested his family to lay him on a special coffin with holes on both upper sides where both his arms could be extended out. He wished that all his famous and rich friends be invited on his wake and them be showed how he died, and them to look and remeber his outstrectched arms and open hands, expressing and warning them this lesson "WHEN WE ALL DIE, WE WILL ALL BE EMPTY HANDED, NO MATTER HOW MUCH WE WORK HARD TO GAIN THE WORLD " so now, let us ask our very own self, what are we busy about? is it simply for our gain or we are busy not just for our gain but for others as well. remember, God says, you save your soul by saving others FIRST... "GOD LOVES US SO MUCH THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHALL NOT PERISH BUT SHALL HAVE ETERNAL LIFE "

Olabode's comment on 2014-05-27 11:36:52:

Bible made it cleaned that,we should love not the world neither things in the world because things in the world are temporal that is, things that can perish at any point in time. Jesus Christ came to this world to demonstrate that, we should invest in heaven rather than earth. We should not be carried away with the excitement of this world so that everyone of us will claim the mansion he has prepared. Our souls is precious to him.

MockingBird's comment on 2014-05-27 09:19:10:

I was once out in the world and I gave it all I could. I had a thing about dancing and sex. I got used up. I am so glad God called me into His Kingdom He loved me so that He forgave me and took me in. Since I have been with my Lord Jesus I have been loved corrected chastised rebuked And Blessed beyond measure. I have and am still learning to lean on Jesus and to Trust Him more and More. He loves me so much and because He does I love Him more and more. He is such a wonderful Lord and Saviour. Praise God !!!!

Toni's comment on 2014-05-27 06:15:41:

Our soul is priceless. There is no amount of money, land or wordly possessions or status, that can ever measure up to or equal our soul. It is the MOST valuable part of our lives. Also, there is nothing we can give God to get us into heaven. There is no buying back our souls. There is no purgatory. If we leave out Jesus on this side and fail to be baptized with the Holdy Ghost and the fire, we will not get into heaven, and will be on our way to hell for eternity, where there is no end. Give up the world like Jesus did and follow Him.

Diamond Brown's comment on 2014-03-10 17:48:10:

It really tells us not to worry if we are not rich but be happy of what we got in our hands to survive As long as we accept Jesus in our life and have happiness in our family then that is it rather than being rich and end up in hell

BRO MARIO's comment on 2013-12-30 07:55:39:

SOMETIMES WE GET CAUGHT ON THE FENCE GOD SAID ITS TIME TO LET GO ALL THINGS THATS NOT LIKE HIM PUT IT BEHIND.THANK GOD FOR MY MIND.

Richard A Agee's comment on 2013-12-03 17:13:36:

The most precious thing god has blessed us with is our soul! People allow themselves to get caught Up in material gain! U will never ever see a uhaul follow a hurst! Can't take it with u! I hope and Pray to see heaven! And the road that is paved with gold! Hallalujah!

Catherine Kafumukache's comment on 2013-10-21 01:55:23:

As Christians, our mission is to walk with Christ to stay in the Salvation Realm. Material things are vanity. A saved soul lives forever.

Suba's comment on 2013-08-16 03:21:46:

A man can gain what ever he wants in this world but in the end he lost the eternal life if he fail to follow all GOD's commanments

Why did the corporate or group take out the name of God?

Eugine Hatyoka's comment on 2012-09-25 23:25:19:

Nothing is better than life and I would rather lose everything and gain life in Christ Jesus.

Tsembile's comment on 2012-09-25 21:37:50:

At times we spend money we are not supposed to, at times we walk with the wrong people, at times we do things that grieve the Holy spirit. All these things we earn at the expense of our souls.

Tolits's comment on 2012-09-05 20:25:00:

riches on earth will never save one's soul. God is not interested in what we have, but He is after our soul..

Brother Al's comment on 2012-02-18 07:36:58:

If people really understood how reallly huge this statement is they would run find salvation as quickly as possible. Jesus our Lord is saying that he places more value on one human soul than all of the worlds wealth right now there are at least 7 billion people on the planet that would me in Gods eyes it would take at least 7 billion planets just like ours to compare in other words your life and my life more valuable to God than all the worlds riches Thank God for His Awesome Love.
