People's Bible Notes for Matthew 10:35

Mt 10:35 I am come to set a man at variance against his father. This was not the Savior's object, but the effect. The conversion of individual members of the family would cause variance. In nearly all quarrels, except those about religion, the members of the same family stand together, but in religious feuds the family circle is often broken and its parts arrayed against each other.

This book also tell us we should not love any one more than the Lord. Not father, mother children or anything. If so we are not worthy of him.Jesus you are Number 1 in my life.Thank God for Jesus!!

Mathew chpter 10 verse 38 Jesus says we must take up our cross and follow him and he who loves his life will loose it but he who gives up his life will have eternal life. This passage is telling us that our walk with Christ will be a life that of surrender and sacrifice. Loving and serving God means that we should love and serve each other. Serving just like Jesus did when he was here

Nana Nezi; You asked, " 5-15 is not necessary now that the kingdom of God has come?"
Matthew 10:5, Jesus commands his apostles not to preach to the Gentiles or the Samaritans. Matthew 10:6 "But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." Matthew 1:15, 3:2, 10:7, 4:17. It should be apparent that 5-15 is necessary. Jesus is speaking.

According to the KJV, verse 5 says that the kingdom of heaven is at hand (near) please explain your interpretation of the following: 5-15 "This is not necessary now that the kingdom God is come."?

    Thank you for your time.
