Wesley's Notes for Malachi 3:10

3:10 Bring ye - Make a punctual and full payment of all tithes; about this did Nehemiah contend with the rulers, and made them comply, and then all Judah obeyed and did the like, #Nehem 13:10 |- 13. To the store - house - This was one or more large rooms, built on purpose for this use. That there may be meat - For the priests and Levites to live upon. Prove me - Make the experiment. The windows of heaven - A kind of proverbial speech, to express great abundance. A blessing - First of rain to water the earth, next a blessing of corn, wine and oil, and all other products of the earth.

AMEN! PASTORS PUT SUCH A GUILT TRIP ON THE MEMBERS THAT HAVE SO CLOSE TO NOTHING TO BEGIN WITH.IT DETERS MANY AWAY FROM THE CHURCH.
  • Yes the word of God says give 10 as you are able. Giving comes in all forms. Volunteering, helping a neighbor or just saying Good morning. When you give to others you give to God. Why give to a pastor whos not feeding you the full meal? Our father expects us to be wise in these matters. Let your heart lead you. Not your mind
  • Pherson for verse 10
The tithe is given out of obedience because God knows if you hold on to your money it has become your God so therefore your not putting your trust in God for taking care of you and that makes you say to God I dont need you I can do it myself making your money a idol before God. I personally believe its for furthering God's kingdom and work its best to tithe into a place you see God using and blessing. It is saying God Im giving you the first fruits of my labor. So if you make 10 dollars a hour and you give 10 dollars you have given God a hour of your time and labour. Its not like we can rob God He owns it all we can just become disobedient to Him because He wants us to trust Him in all we do.
  • I Strongly Believe That That The Word Of God Can Not Lie It Is True And Lives Till Date And The Word Of God Can Only Work For You When You Believe In It It Yar By Faith That Abraham Recieved Isaac As A Promised Son And After All The Bible Says That God Is Not A Man That He Should Lie Or Change His Mind God Will Always Look Forward To FullFilling His Promises And If He Dose Not Then It Would Make No Sense At All As The Bible Says Lets Trust The Lord With All Our Heart And We Should Lean On Our Own Understanding So Lets Be A Generation Of Faith And Stop Debating The Word Of God Instead Lets Live By The Word Of God God Bless You All In Jesus Name

I think that given 10 percent to God is so the ministries and churches can keep operating. Why you may ask? Well the way I personally see it, with out church the will be no fellowship ,with out moeny there will be no printing of the bible, with out moeny there will be no missioners. Consequently the word of God will desapear. 10 percent is what I feel that God require but if you want to give more is offerings. If you give you 10 percent to the poor you are not follow the word." He say bring it to the store house so there be meat in my house"
