Wesley's Notes for Leviticus 18:21

18:21 Pass through fire - This was done, either by burning them in the fire, or by making them pass between two great fires, which was a kind of consecration of them to that God. Moloch - Called also Milcom, was an idol chiefly of the Ammonites. He seems to be the Saturn of the heathens, to whom especially children and men were sacrificed. This is mentioned, because the neighbours of Israel were most infected with this idolatry, and therefore they are particularly cautioned against it, though under this one instance all other idols and acts, or kinds of idolatry, are manifestly comprehended and forbidden.

This is a very prevalent subject now days. Just this weekend I had to cover this scripture with my daughter because she did not understand "why" gaynism/lesbianism was wrong. At her school one of her friends, boy, age 12, considers himself gay. Reading this scripture to her w/her helped her to understand, I pray that she shares this info w/her peers. I feel
as parents training starts at home.

it seem that people would have read this part of GODS word before they passed a law that it's ok to be gay when GOD clearly says it's a abomination

In looking at the entire 18th chapter of Leviticus, we can see that the LORD told Moses to tell his congregation to not pattern after the Egyptians in the acts of incest, **, idolatry, same- sex relations, and to lie down carnally with a neighbor 's wife for it is abomination and defilement of the land. Any person guilty of such immoral acts would be cut off. Yes, Leviticus was before Jesus ' earthly birth, but the 1st chapter, 18-32 verses of Romans were after the death, burial, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus. "Only YOU can prevent body fires ". As sure as the judgment is real, so is heaven and hell fire real. It 's an individual choice. The Saints of God would love to see God say to everyone, enter in, and not depart from me, for your work was of iniquity. Read St. John 3:1-7 where you must be born again, and Acts 2:38 tells you how to be born again, and lastly Romans 10:9-run and tell somebody else to repent for the Kingdom of heaven is very near. AMEN!
