Wesley's Notes for Joshua 1:2

1:2 Now therefore arise - Let not the withering of the most useful hands be the weakening of ours. When God has work to do, he will either find or make instruments fit to carry it on. Moses the servant is dead; but God the master is not: he lives forever. This Jordan - Which is now near thee, which is the only obstacle in thy way to Canaan. Which I give - That is, am now about to give thee actual possession of it, as I formerly gave a right to it by promise.

Discussion for Joshua 1

My dad's name was Joshua. He was an amazing man. I read this book each time I think of him. It gives me some kind of Joy and peace. I am probably going to name my son Joshua too.

I particularly love Chapter 1 verse 3. I have great confidence because of that promise. There is power is that word.

Joshua was called of GOD and he answered the call as we all should do!We were all chosen for a certain calling and we should answer it as well as Joshua did. GOD gave it to them, they just needed to go claim it all!But like all people they failed to go claim it all!To this day!GOD gave us his grace for free!! We just need to go claim our Inheritance freely gave at the Cross!!!BLOOD does it all

I was a young woman of of 17 when I read the book of Joshua. As I read of this leader/trogon, he reminder me of my grandfather. I told him if I had a son I would name him- first name Joshua and second name after him because I could see Joshua in my grandfather, who's name was Slavone (French). Thus, Joshua Slavone. Family tells me he is so much like him. He was an officer and now a lawyer.
