Jean's comment about verse 17 on 5/02/2014, 7:23pm...

Jonah chapter 1 17. This is were the word prepared comes in. God foreseen Jonah 's disobedience and made sure that the digestive system of the whale would not consumed him.

Jackie Garcia's comment on 2/23/2014, 10:23am...

God sends the storm because he loves you

Josephine's comment on 2/14/2014, 7:31am...

From the start God called Jonah to go to the city of Nineveh to preach to the people about their sins He disobeyed God and went his disobedient way God sent a big fish to gulp him up I think this was an eye opener for Jonah to give him a chance to understand that we cannot hide from God

Roger N. Frey's comment about verse 5 on 2/05/2014, 11:44am...

"each man cried to his own god." This sounds like the common 'foxhole conversion' syndrome. These men were just common sailors so often known and caricatured as blasphemers profane to excess, but here they were reduced to religious expression, no longer a unit in coarse talking. Each one became as an individual expressing his extreme fear and calling to his own God, whether a rabbits foot or
lucky medallion, an image of some animal carried in their sea bag. They each had their idea of a god to call on BUT they had n real confidence it it. They had an immediate impression in the presence of Jonah that he had the real thing and he wasn't calling, he was running even before they were in any trouble.
, lucky stone

Abel D. Guah's comment on 2/04/2014, 7:06am...

Just how Jonah suffered the consequence of his disobedience in the belly of the fish, so, there coming a day when sinners will suffer the consequence of their sins in the belly of the Lake of Fire forever.

Morris mugendi's comment on 1/20/2014, 11:44am...

The same way God send Jonah, He has also send us to preach the gospel to the unreached..

Gascony's comment on 12/17/2013, 6:51pm...

It emphasized solely on Jonah.

Neff's comment on 12/04/2013, 12:37pm...

Sadly chapter 1 is all about Jonah and his attempts to take care of himself even at the risk of others. Notice he only admits he is the problem after the lot falls on him.

James davis's comment on 11/13/2013, 9:55pm...

Its about Jonah but more so about the great love of God this is about God's mercy how far God will go to bring us to a place where its no where to run. Where its just you and him. Gently rebuked Jonah goes forth to deliver a message that was with personal conviction

Timothy Wayne George's comment about verse 17 on 10/31/2013, 6:30am...

Jonah died in the belly of the whale, as Jesus said just as Jonah was three days and nights in the belly of the whale, so shall the Son of man be three days and nights in the heart of the earth. This was a resurrection, and Jonah did not look any differently than when he was swallowed by the whale. The people repented at the preaching of Jonah, and one greater than Jonah is preaching to us today. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shall be saved, and thine household. Praise God our redeemer lives, and because He lives, we shall live also.

Velvet's comment on 10/29/2013, 9:34pm...

I heard a minister a few years ago on television, teach that when Jonah came out of the fish, the stomach acid from the fish, took all of Jonah's hair. His skin was red, and sensitive to the sun. Is that anywhere in the study of Jonah?

Ayoola Stephen A.K. .A :- [Omobajesu]'s comment about verse 2 on 10/20/2013, 5:01am...

Jonah knew God,but he wanted a proof to be sure, before doing God's work.u there listen and heed to the call of God,4 he loves u so much,God bless u.

Ot White's comment on 8/19/2013, 4:39am...

Jonah was an ignorant person who feared, the world, its systems, rulers and the authorities incounted than God the father. He knew a lot about God, but he will chose not to obey immediatly

Godwin Ohiara's comment on 8/01/2013, 11:49pm...

When Jonah boarded that boat, there were many 'gods' that both p***engers and Mariners served. But by the time Jonah 'died' and 'rose' after three days, all the men in the boat feared ONLY ONE GOD. The City of Ninevah received their salvation. We are saved only when we receive Christ as our Lord and Saviour. It takes the Grace of God to do His Will - Praise God!

Busy bee's comment on 6/06/2013, 5:06pm...

This is a great story, I believe we are in Ninevah today. Even people that go to church doing "whatever they want." Some Pastor's even teaching this
I don't want to be anywhere near it. People are Soo Bad. I am reading a book called "Spiritual Avalanche" by Steve Hill. He is talking about these very same people. Just like me, I think Jonah did not want to see this. But we have to deal with it now, before Millions die a spiritual death. Before its too late. (Steve Hill)

JOSEPH's comment on 4/23/2013, 6:09am...

We are taught that for storms in our lives to be calmed, we need to let go Jonah. For in the New Testament, Jesus just like Jonah, was sleeping in the boat as well, but his disciples were not, the storm came as they were crossing to the other side. For their storm to be calmed, they had to call on Jesus, who at the time of the storm was sleeping in the boat they were in.

Katherine Barrett's comment on 3/19/2013, 8:08am...

I think the people of Nineveh were taking too much from the sea. I think Jonah did not want to see what he found there.

Latrelle's comment about verse 16 on 3/07/2013, 12:04am...

Men, gentiles sacrificed Jonah, throwing him out of the boat. Jonah feared the LORD and started praying, even the gentiles that were in the boat started praying the God of Jonah, after they threw him out of the boat. So the mariners witnessed the storm has ceased, so they vowed and started praying.

William opare's comment on 2/17/2013, 8:38am...

I think Jonah was afraid of the people at Nineveh.

Munyiala's comment on 2/06/2013, 3:55am...

Jonah knew he cannot hide from the face of God, but he still tried and Godís will had to be fulfilled through him.

Traceywright's comment on 12/01/2012, 1:51pm...

It simply illustrates the point that there is no one or no place where you can go or hide from God and the importance of obedience to the command of the Lord. I would that the whole world would become obedient to avert the impending judgment and all pertaining to it.
