Wesley's Notes for John 3:18

3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned - Is acquitted, is justified before God. The name of the only - begotten Son of God - The name of a person is often put for the person himself. But perhaps it is farther intimated in that expression, that the person spoken of is great and magnificent. And therefore it is generally used to express either God the Father or the Son.

People's Bible Notes for John 3:18

Joh 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned. "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved" (Mr 16:16). Faith in Christ is essential to salvation, because it is the power that leads to obedience to him. He that believeth not is condemned already. "Shall be damned" (Mr 16:16). The unbeliever condemns himself. He is lost and refuses to be saved by Christ.

PARADOX. Verse 27 ! God will send the Greater than John for our Blessed Lord Christ is Glorfied and seated at His Right Hand in Glory Everlasting Amen indeed. Gods chosen elect Zion will be baptised with the Holy Ghost Speaking in Tongues and once again be united with the Gentile church, throughly purged

The evidence of salvation received by the revelation of Jesus Christ is forgiveness and remission of sins. Sin no more lest a worse thing come upon you by accepting the lie that no one born again by the Holy Spirit of God is without sin. "We are all sinners" is not the confession of one who has been delivered from the power of darkness. If any man or woman is a true believer, they "sin no more".
