John 16:13

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

16:13 When he is come - It is universally allowed that the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost dwell in all believers. And the internal agency of the Holy Ghost is generally admitted. That of the Father and the Son, as represented in this Gospel, deserves our deepest consideration.

    To Bill on John ch. 16 - there's no Jesus admonition in Matt to be born of the water and the spirit or Matt. 28:19 and Acts 2:38? These are in GOD'S Word too.

    I read this as a message of hope given to us by our Lord Jesus Christ. Even though we may suffer in this life, our Lord has conquered this and offers us the comfort of hope in him. Our only peace is in our Lord Jesus the Christ, a free gift from God our Father.

    In this chapter, Jesus is pointing out the purpose of his entire mission: preaching the Gospel (aka the Good News). And that Good News is about the arrival of the one who could only make his appearance AFTER Jesus' departure. Jesus emphatically states this in verse 7. And in verses 8
