"Recognize distortion and excessiveness as signs of satanic attack and based on your position in Christ far above the powers of darkness, Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you James 4:7
Johnny Nichols's comment on 2015-01-28 19:09:15:
Submitting to God entails total submission in every area of your life leaving not one iota of unconfessed sin which in retrospect places an open door for satan to enter our lives and unleash an attack. Totally submitting to God, closes those doors and places our spiritual guards at their posts. Seeing this massive resistance, satan knows he has no choice but to flee. We win the victory by default, satan will not attack when he knows he couldn 't hope to land even one blow.

Resist the devil with this prayer, In the name of Jesus and his shed blood, I command the devil to leave, and denounce his evil works in my life, in Jesus name, Amen

Olabode explains that verse neatly, I just want add that when you have surrendered completely to HIS lordship, the whole host of heaven, not part but the whole host will be behind you, that 's the devil,s nightmare, fleeing will not be an option. Amen to that.
Olabode's comment on 2014-07-24 06:48:12:
Devil will flee from you, if you don 't give him any chance.
Olabode's comment on 2014-07-24 05:59:41:
To my understanding, submission in this particular verse referred to 'obedience ' that is, if we obey and yield to the instructions and commandments of God, we can easily resist the devil and he will flee from us. The bible says in Prob that, if the ways of man pleases God, he makes his enemy at peace with him. The steps to resist the devil are discipline the flesh that is, put it under the control of the Holy Spirit, obey God totally and completely, have faith in God, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, read, study and meditate in the bible regularly, spend quality time with him, fasting and prayers.
MockingBird's comment on 2014-07-24 04:44:31:
When I submit to God that is the first step in resisting the devil. For without Jesus I can do nothing The devil can 't stay where the Word of God is and where His blood is applied . Submitting is not easy It is always something that you do not want to do . Jesus did not want to go to the cross But So He submitted to God and said Not my will but your will be done . And that was through agony in prayer.
