Discussion for Hosea 13

  • Kanisuru for verse 9
It is a terrible thing to fall into the severe hands of the LORD rather than good, if by HIS grace and mercy, you were able to amount into prosperity in all ramification of life all glory should be given to HIM not yourself or any man cos it triggers complacency, contempt and pride which at the end is utter destruction even by your own self.

Verse 16, the god of Samaria is not the God of Israel. Samaria worships a god that is defined differently than the God defined in the Bible. Samaria rebels against her God which may mean all the people of Samaria do not define God in the same manner, being of different doctrine with different beliefs, so they have civil war. In civil war families are destroyed, even innocent children who do not understand what is happening. It is a belief in a different god with different religious laws that causes this destruction of families in Samaria, Syria, not any belief in Jesus or Jehovah. Jesus did not cause this. Jehovah did not cause this.
  • Insight 777
Verse 12 in chapter 10 speaks of the Lord raining righteousness. Perhaps the drought here in verse 5 is symbolic, meaning the people in the wilderness, an uncontrolled area, are unrighteous.
  • Timothy Wayne George
God is the only savior, and blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. There is one name given unto man where by we must be saved, and that is Jesus. Jesus is the only one who can save us from the power of the grave. Jesus defeated satan who had the power of death on the Cross, and gave us the victory when he rose from the grave the third day. Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord. What manner of love the Father hath bestowed on us that we should be called the children of God, and it does not appear what we shall be. We shall be like him, for we will see him as he is. So don't dispair that judgement will come, because Jesus paid it all. All to him we owe, for sin hath left a crimsome stain, but he washed it white as snow.
