Wesley's Notes for Hebrews 2:16

2:16 For verily he taketh not hold of angels - He does not take their nature upon him. But he taketh hold of the seed of Abraham - He takes human nature upon him. St. Paul says the seed of Abraham, rather than the seed of Adam, because to Abraham was the promise made.

People's Bible Notes for Hebrews 2:16

Heb 2:16 He took not on [him the nature of] angels. He did not lay hold of an angel form in order to save angels, but the human form and nature, in order to be our Savior. He chose to be the seed of Abraham, being the Son of Mary, a descendant of Abraham (Mt 1:1 Lu 3:34).
