Wesley's Notes for Hebrews 2:15

2:15 And deliver them, as many as through fear of death were all their lifetime, till then, subject to bondage - Every man who fears death is subject to bondage; is in a slavish, uncomfortable state. And every man fears death, more or less, who knows not Christ: death is unwelcome to him, if he knows what death is. But he delivers all true believers from this bondage.

People's Bible Notes for Hebrews 2:15

Heb 2:15 Deliver them. Not only from sin, which gives death its sting (1Co 15:56), but from all "fear of death" by giving the hope of a blessed life to come.

Discussion for Hebrews 2

Paul in making reference to David's question in Psalms - 'What is man that though art mindful of him and The Son of man that though visitest Him? is focussing on the very heart of the gospel. The extreme nature of the love of God is the full and complete answer to Davids somewhat rhetorical question and it defines it through the amazing provision of The Son of Man Christ in His earthen vessel form, voyaging to earth the first time to embrace all the children of Adam within His great arms of Love. By 'coming to ourselves' and trudging off toward home we are expected to be a long way off and The Father in Jesus runs to meet us. It is not until we are safely in His arms that we are enabled to confess the absolute depravity of our motives and cease from attempting to be but one of His hired servants. What a testimony to the love of the Father that He completely ignores our protestations and our very catholic tendencies to ingratiate ourselves back into His Kingdom Estate. Praise God from whom all blessings flow. And be therefore ready when He comes in the clouds of Glory to throw His Robe of Righteousness over your shoulder - place a ring on your finger and place sandals of peace upon your feet.

Yes, born again steadfast believers will be ready when Jesus comes, exempt from the cut, they are the chosen elect

JESUS CHRIST did say I am the way the truth and the light, no man cometh unto the FATHER except through by me. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. No sinner has eternal life. The only blood sacrifice that is acceptable by GOD is JESUS CHRIST; WHO came into the world to die for the sins of the world, for the remission, forgiveness of sin. Confess JESUS with your mouth.

I agree with Hary Collins, Jesus Christ is our only hope of salvation. I pray that we repent seek him while he can still be found. The Day of the Lord is coming! Will God's people be ready?
