Wesley's Notes for Hebrews 12:22

12:22 But ye - Who believe in Christ. Are come - The apostle does not here speak of their coming to the church militant, but of that glorious privilege of New Testament believers, their communion with the church triumphant. But this is far more apparent to the eyes of celestial spirits than to ours which are yet veiled. St. Paul here shows an excellent knowledge of the heavenly economy, worthy of him who had been caught up into the third heaven. To mount Sion - A spiritual mountain. To the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem - All these glorious titles belong to the New Testament church. And to an innumerable company - Including all that are afterwards mentioned.

People's Bible Notes for Hebrews 12:22

Heb 12:22 Ye are come unto Mount Sion. The law was given at Sinai; the Gospel was to go forth from Mount Zion; that is, from Jerusalem. See Ps 2:6 Joe 2:32 Re 21:2. It is used as a type or symbol of the kingdom of heaven. And unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. This heavenly city is where our Lord dwells and is our eternal home. In coming to Christ we have come into the covenant which gives us the right to a place in that city. And to an innumerable company of angels. The angels of heaven.

    V. 2 - If you've ever read, in depth, what Jesus suffered even before his crucifixion, before Pilate, etc, and then read Heb.12:2 - .....and for the joy that was set before him.....; joy not for himself, but for all the souls that would be with Him because of His sacrifice.

We are a blended family by God's protection He called us out to Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:" And Hebrews12vs28and29 "Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:" Vs: 29 "For our God is a consuming fire."

I DON'T THINK , I KNOW THAT THIS SCRIPTURE VERSE IS ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL VERSES IN THE ENTIRE BIBLE. THIS VERSE HEBREWS 12:14 SAY'S WHAT IT MEANS AND MEANS WHAT IT SAYS NO MAN SHALL SEE THE LORD IN PEACE WITHOUT HOLINESS. PEOPLE HOLINESS IS GOD AND GOD IS HOLINESS. TODAY AND YESTERDAY GOD WAS HOLY AND TOMORROW GOD WILL STILL BE HOLY AND HOLINESS. THEREFORE ? WHY WOULD YOU OR ANYONE ON THIS EARTH WANT TO BE IN ANY OTHER FAITH BELIEVING STATE OTHER THAN BEING HOLY. IN CONCLUSION BUT NOT FINISH THE WHOLE WORLD SHOULD REEXAMINE THEIR RELIGIONS AND SEE RATHER THE CHURCH THEY ATTEND TRULY TEACHES PURE HOLINESS AND NOT SOME MESS THAT LIMITS GOD FROM BEING ALL IN ALL IN THEIR LIFE. THE TIME IS VERY CLOSE TO JESUS CHRIST RETURN WHO IS GOD , AMEN ! SO FOR ALL THE HUMAN RACE THAT ARE NOT HOLINESS SHOULD IMMEDIATELY ASK GOD TODAY " WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED " ANSWER OBEY IN THE BIBLE ACTS 2:38 TO START AND SEE WANT JESUS GOD MAKE YOU HOLINESS. PEACE UNTO YOU AND THE LORD JESUS LOVE YOU ALWAY .
