CHAP. XVIII.
1 Abraham entertaineth three Angels. 9 Sarah is reproued for laughing at the strange promise. 17 The destruction of Sodome is reuealed to Abraham. 23 Abraham maketh intercession for the men thereof.
1And the LORD appeared vnto him, in the plaines of Mamre: and he sate in the tent doore, in the heat of the day.1
5And I will fetch a morsell of bread; and comfort ye your hearts, after that you shall passe on: for therefore are you come to your seruant. And they said; So doe, as thou hast said.5
6And Abraham hastened into the tent, vnto Sarah, & said; Make ready quickly three measures of fine meale, knead it, and make cakes vpon the hearth.6
9¶ And they said vnto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent.
10And he said, I will certainly returne vnto thee according to the time of life; and loe, Sarah thy wife shall haue a sonne. And Sarah heard it in the tent doore, which was behind him.10
12Therefore Sarah laughed within her selfe, saying, After I am waxed old, shall I haue pleasure, my lord being old also?12
Abraham prayeth for the Sodomites.
17And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I doe;
18Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?18
23¶ And Abraham drew neere, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?
Abraham prayeth for the Sodomites.

Becca's Genesis Chapter 18 comment about verse 14 on 3/30/2013, 9:08am...
I think it is a sad thing to mess around with the words of the Lord, it not only loses its true meaning, but confuses people, not confounds them.
And I find it funny the newer versions say that they re-translated it from Hebrew and Greek, (didn't the Hebrew people lose there language and redid it in the 20's and 30's?) when they really are re-translating it from the newer foundations of the languages, and what ever happened to the Canaanite Aramaic and Elephantine they did translate the first time around... for the 1st 3/4th of the Bible :) just sayen. I see a lot of people translating the New Testament the same way, with a more modern portion of Greek... not what is actually was written down with, thus is the reasoning behind me using the Old King James... although there are a lot of characteristics of social living involved that tends to offend people, heaven forbid someone get offended by God's Word, lol lol!!! Isn't there a scripture about that? That was the days and times, but facts show and personal experience, there are things that offends the Lord! And as for the word of can not!(you may understand this or not, hehehe) for the Lords sake we will give understanding, that He prefers not, not can not ... God is God, the devil is an angel, and we are made in God's image, the Holy Ghost must lead you to understand His meanings, spending time with the Lord in understanding what he truly meant and means is up to the individual relationship. And that does not mean each person will get there own interpretation, but that individual will discover that there is only one (His!). One fact reins to be true, that you must ask yourself! Do you know Him? or of Him?
Mathew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
that is my comment if I am allowed to have one, if I offended you? I could only hope as much as the Lord can in love. May grace be on you :)
