Thabo Miya's comment about verse 15 on 11/05/2012, 5:01am...

It is God commitment to Abram that surely he won't die still Crying for the child, or he will never die childless, He will die and be buried happier and blessed and peaceful because his wish has been granted......!

It comes down to "be happy with what you got". Be happy with the stars in your life. So if you only have one kid, that's one star that shines brighter then the others. Amen....

this chapter is as plain as can be. it is true that the lord is our sheild and a rewarder of them that love him. but what is more important is the act of excercising faith. faith is a prove that he is god.

Comment to Jeff's question. I believe the human body will die out but the spirit will continue on. So that is how we will continue on with our new glorified body.

I think the most profound aspect of chapter 15 is in verse 6.(And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness).

God is moved by faith and whenever we exercise faith in God he will respond. In some area we have faith , but in other areas we fall short.

I believe God wants us to believe in him fully so that he can truly bless us.

LOL. its so amazing how Proverbs 3:5 clearly reads Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and LEAN NOT unto thine own understanding but still people carry out these self interpretations. smh. Take a look at Ephesians 4:5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism. now out of all the lies, religions, and philosophies thats floating around the world always always remember that ITS ONLY, ONLY ONE TRUTH ABOUT GOD and if you don't know what it is then don't speak on it. if it applies be offended. simple as that.

I wonder, what happen here that he got such penalty.

Angela's comment about verse 9 on 1/25/2011, 7:01pm...

I like the way Joseph Prince interprets this. Because God causes Abraham to fall asleep the true covenant is not made between God and Abraham, but God and Himself (or Christ).
The fiery pot and the burning candlestick rep. Christ. The covenant occurs when the two partakers pass thru the dead carcasses and it's understood if you do not hold up your end of the covenant, the same thing that happened to these animals will happen to you.

RALPH M. WATERS's comment on 12/31/2010, 11:19am...

And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land [that is] not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;

A great deal of people take this as a sign of the period of SLAVERY. HOWEVER, is just a fulfilling of the time of war with the enemy (Satan) - We will all go before the judgement seat and be judged and receive what rewards are given.

I don’t get how this makes sense to "Infinite number of stars exist" men will eventually die out, and then we will be judge. So humans won’t continue forever right? any1?
