Divide- to seperate; to stay apart. Therefore, the Bible says the generations of Japheth have to divide from the generations of Shem or Ham. Whites and hispanics come from the generation of Japheth. Shem's generation are the middle easterns and asians. Ham's generation, the cursed people, consists of African natives. Therefore, the Bible DOES SAY to divide from the decendants of the other two generations.

ian, it just states what happens eventually. this isnt necessarily in chronological order. since this is more about lineages than it is about the actual story of the tower of babel. i just read an earlier chapter where it talks about sodom and gomorrah that the Lord destroyed, but its mentioned before the actual chapter where sodom and gomorrah are destroyed.

Twice the text refers to the world being divided up "after his/their tongues", yet this is before the account of the Tower of Babel (Ch12) which declares that all the world spoke one language. Can anyone clarify please?
